SUP is a fun and easy iPhone app for tracking your stand up paddle boarding and Kayaking activities. You can email or post to Facebook your results including a route map of your activities. You should place your iPhone into a water proof bag and to ease the starting of the app, you can tap “Start” up to 60 minutes before you actually start your water activities. The app will automatically start recording your activity when you start paddling. SUP provides advantages over most other GPS-based apps: • Easier to use with an auto-pause feature • Does not require WiFi or cellular connection • No logon required and all data is stored locally • Record waypoints with optional photos • Can get you “Back on Time” or “Back by Dark” • Allows you to trace your way back • A GPS auto shut-off battery saver • App can be resumed if terminated for any reason EASY TO USE Just tap “Start” when you are at your SUP or kayaking lunch point and the app will “wait” for you to start your activities. With SUP, there is no account setup required. No registration required. It does not even require a Wi-Fi or cell phone connection, just a GPS signal. SUP operates in the background so you can use your iPhone to make and receive phone calls, play music, or run other apps all the while SUP is tracking your activity. AUTO-PAUSE SUP has an auto-pause feature that allows you to pause up to 60 minutes (by default, settable to 5-60 minutes in Settings) before the app asks you if your activity has “Ended?” With Auto Pause, only the time you are actively moving is used to calculate your average speed. BACK-ON-TIME Have you ever got caught out after it’s too dark to see or got back latter than you want? This is because you didn’t know when to head-back to be back on time. With SUP, all you need to do is set the “Return Time” or select “Back by Dark” and the app does the rest. It alerts you when it is time to head-back, displays how fast you need to go, and your current speed. It also displays an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) back at your starting point based on your current location and speed. With SUP, you can set the “Return Time” when you start your activity or anytime during your activity and you can even choose a different route back and SUP can still get you back-on-time! SAVE AND SHARE YOUR ACTIVITIES The app automatically saves your route map and activity details locally on your iPhone. You can share your route map and activity details via email or Facebook, The app can also assist you in marking any number of waypoints and allowing you to include any number of photos with each waypoint. At any time you can email the waypoint locations and optional photos to anyone. This is great to let others know about hazards, points of interest or setting a future meeting location. BATTERY SAVING The app can automatically detects when you have ended your activity and shuts off the GPS to save your battery.
