Online play servers and updates require a lot of effort and cost on our part, so spread the word and pitch-in when you can. This is a grassroots effort - going 18+ years strong with lots more to come!

Bug fixes. This update brings our Online functions from a third party Backend as a Service supported framework to a BlitWise maintained AWS hosted server infrastructure. This should provide greater flexibility in the future, and players should not see any disruption in game play or functionality. However, some errors may occur with a change of this magnitude. Allowing free users to play online quadrupled our server bandwidth, and it continues to rise every day. This will help us keep the online service free for everyone. Online Play added for Free players. Free players can now play WiFi and Online against Deluxe owners. The new Local WiFi mode allows you to play a classic game of Pocket Tanks with someone on another mobile device on the same local wireless network. It is real time, and you see the actions your opponent takes as he takes them. Online Asynchronous (Turn-based) play lets you play against a friend at your own pace, with all your weapons available. If you need a quick fix, you can get a game started against a random opponent, with random weapons too! This update also adds the ability to replay your Online games, in fast or slow motion, and to take and share screenshots easily via Facebook or Twitter. iOS compatibility changes: Pocket Tanks v2.0 is compatible with the latest generation iOS devices, and iOS 7.0+. Consequently, this update no longer supports iOS versions before 5.0. Online functions are currently available free for all players.
