The number of times I have foolishly typed in a lengthy review only to have it disappear for ever because I clicked outside the window. Never, never, never type a review in this app. Type it outside in a proper notepad application and paste the review into the app when you have completed it to avoid losing all your work. More stars lost because it is hard to get your data out of the app. I don’t think I have succeeded once in being able to export the data out from the website. you can’t do it in the app.More stars lost because the API was taken away. That was a real bonus to power users but admittedly the API was pretty terrible.Another star lost because I have never dared to connect my Kindle account to Goodreads because I don’t want all my book purchases to be public. I have read other comments where people are saying the opposite, “Where are my purchases?” Apparently, you have to enable them to be public. Maybe it’s clear to the developers but there seems to be a lot of user confusion about this.Lastly, I don’t recall a single improvement to this app since it was introduced. It looks the same and has the same clunky feel. I kind of doubt that there is anyone working on it apart from making sure it still runs the latest iOS version.

Ive never written a review for an app but I feel so strongly for this that I had to write. I love this app. Lots of users and reviews of books that make me feel like Im part of a huge book community. I get to yap about books digitally and it’s great. BUT. The UI/UX design for this app MUST improve. Reviews/Star: Why is there no option for giving .5 ratings? Please make it like letterbox where you can do that so it’s more accurate. Friends: I don’t even know why it’s so hard to navigate and add friends. Or look at their updates. The design of the app itself feels like it’s meant for desktop computer… it should be adapted to a smartphone.

I can get the opinions of many different REAL people before purchasing the book. And THAT is crucial.In the past I had so many disappointments buying books following comments on blogs or reviews on sites like Amazon... Which were in fact not representative of the book's real value.This app / service is just great.
