update Dec. 19, 2025:I have to say the devs are one of the best devs Ive seen. The honesty, the willingness to listen to the community. I have to give respect for the amount of care they've shown. The personally distasteful AI art seem to be swapped, the gacha system has been tweaked, and the new event was fun. I still believe the controls are a bit too simple even on the Pro mode but thats just my personal preference and i dont see it as a down side. I absolutely LOVE seeing developers having passion and listening to the player base. I'm very excited to see how this game will develop into in the future.previously:⭐️⭐️updated: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️original review at release:positives: 1. easy and casual, even the "pro" mode is relatively easy to control2. plenty of characters and grind worthy materials3. character cut-ins when they score really gives a feel other volleyball games like The Spike does not offer.negatives:1. AI art. AI Art is heavily used and depending on a person this may be a plus. But personally not for me. character sprites in cut-ins are very inconsistent and chapter completion arts are in that infamous yellow filter. Personally very unattractive and makes me not want to support this game as a whole. Please get real artists like The Spike.2. Gacha. The game offers gacha system to get characters. even if you do get same character over and over again, you can use that to upgrade the character. This is fine. the real egregious part comes from the system in which this gacha operates on. you spend currency for 5 gacha pulls, yet you can be awarded for one prize which may vary to a character to mere 300 in game currency, which is not a lot. The game does offer a mechanic where if you do get more than certain amount of items from the pull you do you get bonus free rounds, but from my personal experience, the likelihood of you getting past the second round is extremely low. The double gambling feel to the gacha just genuinely feels predatory, unnecessarily complicated and untrustworthy. honestly the listed percentages of what you may get from gacha leaves me to question if its true. I personally would not recommend you spending money for the gacha.3. physics. if you have played volleyball you would know the simple rule of spiking: if you spike more in front of you, you gain power and a sharp angle to your spike, whilst you lose height and control. this was done extremely well by the developers of The Spike and unfortunately i can not say the same for this game. The physics arent there. While the control is easy, the hit ox on the spike is forgiving, the spike angle, strength, serve angle is not controlled through physics based in real volleyball. instead the angles are controlled through timing yourself in the air. This is fine if a casual volleyball-esk game is what you are looking for but personally it did not entertain me. In a weird way, its easy but the skill ceiling is very low. I probably would not be playing this game extensively due to this reason.Overall:this game is for you if;1. A casual volleyball-like game is what you are looking for2. likes a nice easy game to play and not invest heavily3. supports or is okay with AI-artthis game is not for you if;1. does not support AI art2. want to play extensive game that does not feel predatory/unclear3. you are looking for more genuine/authentic volleyball game Personally; give it a go if you are thinking about it but don't expect too much, and would highly recommend not spending irl money for the gacha. Happy spiking.
