This app is a complete and utter scam. Zonos is totally broken, and their automated system is explicitly designed to rip off independent sellers. If you are an international vintage seller shipping original AMERICAN-MADE items back to the USA, U.S. Customs legally mandates a 0% ZERO TARIFF RATE under HTS code 9801.00.10.98 for American Goods Returned. On top of that, MADE IN MEXICO items are also completely DUTY-FREE (0%) under the USMCA trade agreement! But does Zonos care? Hell no! They are charging a ton of unjustified tax on items that are legally 100% free! Even if you fill out their own "Country of Origin" section clearly stating the item was made in the USA or Mexico, this broken app completely ignores it! It forces a massive, fake standard apparel tax calculation anyway because their lazy, rigid software is too stupid to handle basic free trade rules and Chapter 98 exceptions.WHAT A MASSIVE SCAM! They are forcing hard-working sellers into an inescapable trap. Because major marketplaces and Japan Post force us into their automated digital loop, Zonos forces an illegal tax charge at checkout, locks you out of your legitimate zero-duty rights, rejects valid 10-digit codes, and funnels thousands of dollars of fake fees straight into government revenues. It is a broken, evil scam that ruins your pricing, kills your sales, and forces you to get screwed by a software glitch. If you deal in vintage, US-made, or Mexico-made inventory abroad, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE. Fix your broken, thieving system!!!
Thank you for the feedback. Under current U.S. customs rules, duty-free treatment for American goods returned isn’t available through the standard postal process. The app also doesn’t yet support trade agreement claims like USMCA, so duties are calculated without them, and we’re working on adding that very soon. The Duty breakdown shows each tariff applied.
