Pipeline measures a catcher's mechanics from an ordinary phone video. Film a rep, confirm what the app found, and the number goes on that athlete's record, where their coach and family can watch it change.
Built for baseball and softball catchers, and the coaches, trainers and families around them.
WHAT IT MEASURES
Pop time
Film a throw to second. The app listens for the two sounds that bracket the throw, the pitch hitting the mitt and the ball arriving at second, and reports the time between them.
Receiving
Film a received pitch. The app tracks the glove and reports how fast it traveled to the ball, how long it took to stop after the catch, and how long it held there. Keep home plate in the shot for glove speed, since the app uses it for scale.
NOTHING SAVES UNTIL YOU CONFIRM IT
Every rep is laid out on the video first. You see the exact frames the app marked and can move any that are wrong. Nothing reaches an athlete's record until you've checked it.
FOR COACHES AND FAMILIES
Coaches and trainers keep a roster. Parents, guardians and athletes keep one athlete or a few. Everyone gets the same screens.
Share an athlete's record with a link. Each link works once, expires after seven days, and you can revoke access at any time.
Available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and Korean.

2.2.3 10月2日
Fixes a few issues with receiving and improves stability when analyzing video.
Still is now called Stick throughout the app. Same measurement, new name.
2.2.2 9月24日
This update renames a receiving metric and fixes a crash.
STILL IS NOW STICK
Receiving now has two timing metrics with plain names:
- Stick: how long the glove takes to stop after the catch
- Hold: how long you hold it there
Stick used to be called Still. Only the name changed. The number and how it's measured are the same.
FIXED: APP CLOSING DURING RECEIVING
If you filmed in 4K, the app could close partway through marking a rep, usually right after tapping Mark, and the rep wasn't saved. The app was decoding your video at full 4K when the analysis only needs a much smaller image, so iOS shut it down for using too much memory. It now decodes at the size it actually needs. If this happened to you, try the same clip again.
RECEIVING LOG
Stick and Hold now lead each rep, side by side, with glove speed underneath. Tap any rep to see its glove speed and full timeline.
2.2.1 9月22日
NEW
- Glove speed (mph) on receiving reps. Keep home plate in frame.
- Mark four moments: glove load, catch, still, break. The video zooms and follows your mark.
- Rebuilt rep page with a full timeline
- New overlay on downloaded videos
- Faster saving; athlete photos
FIXED
- Save errors on some receiving reps
- Blank Save button; tiny button text
PLEASE TRY
Film a rep with home plate in frame, save it, download the video, and check that the overlay matches the app. Flag anything off with still or hold times.
2.2.0 9月21日
1. Manual receiving rep. Tag a receiving rep by hand and save it. This was broken for the entire life of 2.0.1, so confirm the save sticks.
2. Old video import. Pick an older video, ideally one iCloud has offloaded off your device. It should load. If it can't, you should get a card explaining why, the picker closing on you is a bug.
3. Language switching. Settings → Language. Run through Japanese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, and report anything still showing in English.
4. Burned-in labels. With the app in Japanese, download one pop time clip and one receiving clip. The labels baked into the video should be Japanese too, not English.
5. Location fields. In onboarding's location step or Edit Profile: Japan should prompt for a prefecture, Singapore should hide the middle field entirely, and the US shouldn't let you skip the state.
2.1.0 9月8日
Pipeline is now available worldwide.
YOUR FILM WORKS NOW
Pipeline listens for the two glove pops to place the marks for you. When it cannot hear them, because the field was loud, the wind was up, or the clip has no audio at all, it used to leave you on an empty screen with no explanation.
That is fixed. Pipeline now opens the video and tells you to place the marks by hand. You scrub to the catch and the glove pop at the bag, tap them yourself, and get the same pop time. The same is true for receiving.
Clips with the audio stripped out no longer get refused at all. If you have been sitting on Synergy, Hudl or GameChanger film you could not measure, it works now.
ALSO IN THIS VERSION
A fix to signing in when you never confirmed your email address.
2.0.1 9月5日
Pipeline Sports 2.0 is a new app.
Everything has been rebuilt from the ground up around one thing: measuring a catcher's mechanics from an ordinary phone video. No sensor, no radar, nothing to strap on.
PLEASE NOTE
This version replaces the previous app completely. If you used the earlier one, almost none of it is here: 2.0 does one job, and this is a fresh start rather than an update.
Free. Unlimited measurements, every athlete.
