Someone blinked. Someone looked away. Everyone else looks great. Best Expression fixes the one face that spoiled a group photo by borrowing a better expression from another shot taken around the same moment.
Open Best Expression from within the Photos app on iPhone or iPad. Tap a face, review that person's nearby takes, choose the expression you prefer, and save the result.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Best Expression does not upload or transmit your photos. Face detection, scoring, matching, and blending happen on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's Vision framework and a local MediaPipe library.
No replacement faces are generated. Every expression in the finished photo comes from pictures you chose.

• Replace closed eyes, a missed smile, or an awkward expression.
• Choose a different source shot for each person.
• Add or remove reference shots to find more choices.
• Use frames from Live Photos as additional choices.
• Fine-tune eyes and smiles with simple controls.
• Preview the result before saving.
• Work from the Photos app you already use.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open a group photo in Photos.
2. Enter Edit and choose Best Expression from the extensions.
3. Tap a face and pick a better take.
4. Repeat for anyone else, then save.
For best results, use a short series of similar photos taken close together, with people in roughly the same position.
