California's new speed cameras are going live: 241 of them in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Long Beach, San Jose, Glendale and Malibu. Speed Alert LA tells you out loud when one is coming up and what the limit is, so you can ease off before you pass it. No looking at your phone.
USE THE MAPS APP YOU ALREADY USE
Tap Start Drive, then switch to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. Alerts keep coming with your phone locked, through your phone or your car speakers over Bluetooth or CarPlay.
ONLY THE CAMERAS AHEAD OF YOU
Speed Alert LA knows which way you're driving, so it stays quiet about cameras behind you or on cross streets. One alert per camera, no nagging.
A HEADS-UP IF YOU'RE OVER
Going faster than the posted limit as you approach a camera? You'll hear "Slow down."
VOICES THAT SOUND HUMAN
Pick from natural-sounding voices and choose when you hear the alert: 2,000, 1,300 or 800 feet out.
EVERY CAMERA, SEVEN CITIES
All 241 camera locations from official city sources (LADOT, SFMTA, OakDOT and others), with the street, the speed limit and a street-level view, on a map or in a searchable list.

No account, no sign-up. Everything runs on your phone, and your location and trips never leave it.
FREE: camera map, camera list, guide and a demo drive.
PREMIUM: voice alerts on every drive. $4.99/month with your first month free, or $49.99/year. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
Speed Alert LA is a reminder, not permission to speed. Always follow posted speed limits and traffic laws. Camera locations and start dates can change. Speed Alert LA is not affiliated with LADOT, the City of Los Angeles or any other city or agency.
