Welcome Home.

The main view–now called Home–has been redesigned to make it even easier to discover content you’ll enjoy. In addition to the featured content you’re used to seeing, Home is now where you can find additional pages of curated content grouped by category or interest such as News, Culture, Science, and Classes. We’ll continue to add more Home pages over time, so let us know what you’re interested in seeing more of.

Some other smaller changes in this release include:

• Settings has a new icon
• Library has a new icon
• Browse has been renamed Explore

And also, the team took this update as an opportunity rewrite the entire Featured/Home view in SwiftUI.

Problems solved. Great content.

Content is great but how to get access is a little confusing.

If you contact CuriosityStream support they can activate your account immediately. There’s nothing we can do without the bundle activation from them.

Love the content, app needs work

I’m a big fan of the concept of giving creators more freedom over their world and not being bound to the YouTube algorithm, but there are some things the really need addressing as far as the app go.

First, I love the fact that there is no automatic feed and no comments, meaning I can enjoy videos without being forcefed and without having to delve into a cesspool of whatever in the comment section.

However there are problems.
1) Slow “Featured” page
2) No bookmark capabilities
While it is nice to be able to download, it is entirely possible that one may want to create playlists of content that exceed the amount of space they want to take up at any one time, so it’s odd to me that one can’t bookmark specific files.
3) Limited casting
Kinda strange that there is no Chomecast support at this point.
4) Clunky downloading
I tried to create a queue of downloads but what often happens is that the queue cuts off as one changes screen to check if the files are downloading!
5) can’t move off of app
This option would help save battery life, prevent accidental pausing, etc.

I know Neblua is going for a simpler approach, but these would certainly make for a more positive experience.

App has a lot of problems

I love nebula but the video reproducer is not that good, it’s really crashy and sometimes, when I finish a video, if I don’t change the video before it finishes it doesn’t let me play anything else or even get out of full screen mode, I have to restart the app entirely. I hope you guys can fix it, otherwise nebula is a great service.
