Why Require Sign In?

Looks like a nice app but don’t get why it has to require sign in, and it’s not even anonymous sign in.

The app has a free trial, and sometimes users ask us to extend their trial. To accommodate such users, we need to know to whom the trial version needs to be extended. Additionally, we have discounts for students; we need to know to whom we should offer the discount as well. Apple Sign-in provides an anonymous sign-in option. While signing in, you have the option to choose your email ID or a proxy anonymous ID. We have chosen Apple Sign-in because it offers an anonymous sign-in option. You can try that.
