Smart Remote+ now controls Samsung TVs, joining LG webOS, Sony Bravia, and Android TV / Google TV. A new Standby status shows when a TV is reachable but its screen is off, Siri Shortcuts and widgets are now fully brand-aware (Turn On works without a stored MAC address), and power controls are smarter about waking and switching off every brand. Plus many bug fixes.

Smart Remote+ now controls more than LG TVs. • Sony Bravia support: control your Bravia over Simple IP Control — no pairing codes needed. • Google TV and Android TV support: works with TCL, Philips, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, and US Hisense sets. • Per-TV remote layouts: give each TV its own button layout, with a shared default for the rest. • Customise Layout now only offers sections your TV actually supports. • New TV Self-Test runs a live command sweep and produces a shareable report to help diagnose connection issues. • Clearer app launcher: if your TV can't list its apps, the remote now explains why instead of showing buttons that do nothing.

Bug fixes and improvements

Panel Care - kill the auto-dimmer The most-requested LG OLED feature anywhere: switch off TPC and GSR, the panel's automatic dimming of static scenes, logos and game HUDs, for full brightness whenever you want it (2020 and newer OLED models). The TV normally brings dimming back after a power cycle - the app remembers your choice per TV and re-applies it automatically every time it connects. One tap restores factory dimming. Scenes - your TV, set up in one tap Create named presets like "Movie Night" or "Gaming" that apply a whole batch of settings at once: HDMI input, picture mode, OLED light, brightness, contrast, colour, energy saving, TruMotion and sound output. Scenes work on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and can be run from Shortcuts, Siri and widgets.
