when i join this platform as a freelancer, required number of connects to apply jobs were 4 or 6 connects in many cases and sometimes I saw 8 or 16 connects at most.so i could get some jobs with free charged connects. After few months, the number of required connects to apply jobs became 16 or higher connects in most cases. even $5 job requires 16 connects to apply ! that’s insane. i am doubting that the management of upwork controls the rate of connects regardless clients do.I already have stopped working in this platform.Connects rate became higher but projects fee dropped and full of con. Ironically, con men reply to my application, so I could get back my connects at least, it’s better than non-con clients ignoring my application.
Freelancers Must Be Extremely Careful Here

In my experience, Upwork’s escrow system did not provide real protection when milestones were left unfunded. I completed multiple projects where payment was promised but never fully funded, and the platform did not meaningfully intervene.There are clients who use misleading company names, push for off-platform arrangements, or keep work going without securing escrow funds. Despite reporting clear concerns, I received little effective support, and most responses were automated.Freelancers should be extremely careful and confirm that escrow is fully funded before starting any work. The current system makes it too easy for bad actors to take advantage of freelancers while facing minimal consequences.
I’d like the app to include a Japanese language option as well.

The app is very helpful and easy to use, but it currently supports only English.I would really appreciate it if a Japanese language option could be added in future updates.Many Japanese users are joining Upwork, so multilingual support would be wonderful.
