Zero Considerations

¥1,500 · iPadに対応しています。macOSでは検証されていません。
A ballistics calculator that reads the paper. Photograph your shot group and Zero Considerations gives you the exact clicks your turret takes to move point of impact onto point of aim.
Everything that measures and calculates runs on your phone, with no signal. Your firearms, loads, photos and results never leave your device. The one part that uses the internet is the optional weather fill, which sends an approximate location to a weather service and stores nothing. Leave it off and the app never touches the network.
SIGHT IN FROM A PHOTO
• Shoot your group, photograph the target, and the app finds the target and the holes, measures the group against your point of aim, and gives the exact click adjustments for your turret.
• 1,219 optic entries carry the makers' own click values, so the same scope in MOA and in MIL gets the right answer.
• Scale comes from a printed target with coded corners that also squares up camera tilt, or from a store-bought target the app recognizes. Type a known span for anything else. A manual fallback always works.
• Sighting in indoors? Proxy zero works out where to print at 25 yards so you should be on paper at 100. The app calls a proxy zero a prediction, because that is what it is.
• If it is not sure it has your target, it shows you the photo and asks. It will not print a confident call it cannot stand behind.
BALLISTICS THAT MATCH YOUR RIFLE
• Drop, wind and energy in MOA, MIL or clicks.
• Temperature, pressure, humidity and wind fill in from your phone, or type them yourself.
• A wind dial you drag to your call, with optional compass capture.
• Point-blank range and maximum ordinate.
• Zero and true: from a photographed group at a known distance, back out your true muzzle velocity so your dope matches what the rifle actually does.
KNOW YOUR OPTIC BEFORE YOU SHOOT
• 487 reticle patterns drawn to the makers' published subtension sheets wherever the maker publishes the numbers, to scale, so you can see your real holdovers — and where one never did, the app says so on the reticle.
• A suggested zero distance for each reticle, based on your load.
• A mount and riser calculator that works out true height over bore from your rail and mount, offset optics included. Bore sight it, then confirm the zero on paper.
SET UP YOUR RIGS ONCE
• Save firearms, optics, mounts, loads and lasers as setups you reuse.
• 852 firearms and 512 factory loads built in, or add your own.
• Device loadouts: primary optic, offset, laser and irons on one rifle, each with its own zero.
WHAT IT COSTS
• One purchase. No subscription, no ads, no analytics, no account.
For education and lawful sporting use. Always verify your zero and dope on paper before relying on them.
さらに見る 176 more Vortex optics, including the Venom 1-6x24: scopes, red dots and prisms, each with Vortex's own click values and a reticle drawn to Vortex's published reticle sheet.
Multi-reticle red dots: pick the dot, the circle, or both.
Scopes with different elevation and windage clicks now get the right number of windage clicks.
A simpler scale step.

Steadier hits from the target photo, and less waiting.
• Targets printed from the app are recognized on their own and measured from their corner markers, so their hits are found more reliably.
• Type the target size once at the photo step; the aim-point screen remembers it.
• Partially readable corner markers no longer hold up the analysis.
• A second string reuses the target found on the first photo.
• Elevation and windage are measured on their own axes, so tilted targets price correctly.

Hole detection on iPhone now runs on Apple's Neural Engine: faster, and it finds hits the previous version could miss. Same 1,043 optic entries with the makers' click values, 852 firearms and 345 reticles drawn to the manufacturers' sheets. No account, no upload, no signal needed.
1.8.1 9月15日
New for long range: spin drift, Coriolis and aerodynamic jump on the DOPE card and trajectory table (Settings > Long range), cards out to 3,000 yards with transonic and subsonic rows marked, Mach at every range, and a CSV export of the card. Same photo-to-clicks zero, 1,043 optic entries, 852 firearms, 512 loads, 345 reticles. No account, no upload, no signal needed.
1.8.0 9月11日
The in-app help now explains scale the way the app works: coded corner markers on our printed targets, store-bought targets it recognizes, or a span you type. Four printable target styles, Letter or A4. Same 1,043 optic entries with the makers' click values, 852 firearms and 345 reticles drawn to the manufacturers' sheets. No account, no upload, no signal needed.
1.7.10 9月10日
Printed targets and exported reports now carry a small code. Scan it and you land on the free printable targets page, or straight back into the app on the one-photo sight-in. Rate the app in one tap from Settings. Same 1,043 optic entries with the makers' click values, 852 firearms and 345 reticles drawn to the manufacturers' sheets. No account, no upload, no signal needed.

A cleaner results page and a quicker scan.
• Your clicks lead the results page; velocity truing waits behind one tap until you want it.
• On most targets the hole scan finishes sooner: the extra close-up pass now runs only when the holes are small enough to need it.
• A sharper app icon that reads at any size.
• 1,043 optic entries with the makers' click values, 852 firearms, 512 factory loads, 345 reticle patterns.
Still no account, no upload, no signal needed.

Smoother analysis, same catalog.
• Shoot again with one photo: on your own target, each follow-up string now goes straight from the photo to results — the app recognizes the same target and lines the new photo up with your earlier shots for you. Reticle drawings refined for dozens of scopes to match the makers’ own diagrams.
• Sharper target recognition: when the analysis looks for your target it now reads every pixel of the photo instead of a sample, so store-bought targets are recognized with more confidence and you reach your clicks with fewer taps.
• Smoother analysis: if the app isn't certain it found your target, it shows you the box on your photo — one tap to confirm and the analysis finishes from there.
• 1,043 optic entries. Each reticle version of a scope is its own entry, with that version's exact click value taken from the manufacturer — so the clicks you are told to dial are the clicks your turret actually takes.
• Reticles drawn to the manufacturers' own subtension sheets, so the holdovers you see match the glass you are looking through.
• 852 firearms, with barrel length, twist and sight height.
• More rails recognised, so height over bore is right without measuring it yourself.
• Still no account, no upload, and no signal needed.

The one-photo update.
• Photograph your shot target once — the app now finds the target and every bullet hole on its own. No outlining, no reference objects on the paper.
• Shooting a store-bought target? Just type its printed size — one number if it's square.
• Watch it work: your hits get ringed live as they're found, about half a minute on your phone.
• Tell it how many rounds you fired and it keeps the best matches — old holes and the shot-up backer are ignored.
• Exact clicks for your scope, group size in real inches and MOA, and the orange box shows exactly where it measured.
• Still no account, no upload, no signal needed. Everything runs on your phone.

Follow-up strings now line up automatically.
The biggest fix in this update: when you shoot a second string and the two
photos were taken from slightly different spots, the app now uses the target's
own corner markers to lay the photos on top of each other exactly. Before this,
a small camera shift could bury your new shots in a pile of false holes. Now the
app tells old holes from new ones the way you would.
A mode for splatter and reactive targets.
Bright-ring targets reveal hits instead of leaving dark holes, so they need a
different eye. On the results screen you can now tell the app your target is a
reactive/splatter face and it switches to a detector built for them.
Better measurements from the round you lay on the target.
For most calibers the app now measures the brass case instead of the whole
cartridge. Case length is fixed by the cartridge design, so different bullet
weights in the same caliber no longer stretch the ruler. The finder is also
better at spotting brass by color, and refuses a common mistake where it
measured the copper bullet instead of the case.
It asks instead of guessing.
When the app is not sure of the photo's scale, it no longer quietly fills in
its best guess. It shows you what it found and asks you to confirm or fix it
before anything downstream depends on it.
Store-bought targets are found more reliably.
The app now weighs round and rectangular outlines against each other and picks
the one that actually frames your target, instead of committing early to the
wrong shape.
Also: search everywhere in the app is forgiving about wording and order
("primary 1-8", "556", "acss primary" all work). Exported session reports now
record which app version produced them. New optics in the catalog, including
the Primary Arms 1-8 FFP line and Warne mounts.

Better at finding holes in difficult photos.
Three real changes to the photo analysis:
Small holes. Small or distant holes are now enlarged before the model looks at
them. In bench testing, on the smallest holes we measure, this took the model
from finding almost none of them to finding most of them.
Black bullseyes. On a black bull a fresh hole is usually brighter than the paper
around it, not darker. The app now looks for that too, instead of only hunting
for dark spots.
Your target's outline is found again on the after photo instead of being carried
over from the before photo, so a target that shifted between shots no longer
drags the outline off with it.
Setting the scale on a target that isn't one of ours.
You now say up front whether your target face is round or rectangular. A round
face cannot be fenced by a square, and guessing was costing accuracy.
Measuring your reference cartridge is now two separate, lockable steps: length
and width. If the two disagree the app says so and asks you to re-measure,
rather than quietly picking one. A single measurement can no longer become the
ruler on its own. Slug calibers the app cannot measure reliably now say so
instead of guessing.
It will not sound more certain than it is.
Where the app will not stand behind your zero, it no longer prints a confident
"dial up 8, left 4" anywhere: not in the exported PDF, not in your session
history, and not on the results screen. Where it still shows the measurement, it
says plainly that this is a measurement and not a call, and that dialing it does
not make the rifle zeroed.
Also: photos are compacted when you finish a session, so saved sessions take up
far less space.

The detection engines actually run now.
The on-device models that find bullet holes, cartridges and target markers were
never loading in released builds — the app had been quietly falling back to the
simpler detector on every photo. All three now load. If your photo analysis has
been hit-or-miss, this is why, and this is the fix.
You can see which engine ran. Both photo screens now name the engine that
handled your image and say plainly when one is unavailable, instead of failing
over in silence. Hole finding is also more accurate when two engines disagree.
Clearer instructions, everywhere. Every step that asks for a scale reference now
says the same thing in the same words: shoot a printed Zero Considerations
target (#1–#5) and you need nothing else; on any other target, lay one round of
your cartridge on the paper before you shoot. Thanks to the tester who told us
the old wording was confusing — you were right.
Smaller fixes: your mount setup is remembered between sessions, the scale-type
chips are no longer stuck on a cached reading, and the results view stops
jumping while you edit hole positions.
After you save a completed session, the app may now ask once whether you'd like
to rate it. Everyone gets asked the same way, nothing is withheld either way,
and it will not ask again for a month.
