公司成立于2002年4月，由著名制造业专家，华中科技大学老校长李培根院士创立，总部位于武汉，在武汉、南宁、南京、温州设有子公司，在北京、上海设立了运营中心。
旗下有e-works数字化企业网(www.e-works.net.cn)、e-works咨询、e-works培训、e-works论坛、e-works Research、《数字化企业》期刊等知名品牌。
e-works也是国家工信部2014年首批推荐的两化融合管理体系贯标咨询机构，是当时湖北省唯一一家咨询机构。e-works先后承担了三项国家863项目，曾荣获湖北省科技进步一等奖、二等奖，武汉市科技进步一等奖。
