This update improves reporting, discovery accuracy, and sharing controls. Misidentification reports now show alternative suggestions from our AI, making corrections easier. You can now add Field Notes before identification to provide more context and improve accuracy. You can also adjust privacy settings for each capture directly from your Discovery view, giving you more control over how your discoveries are shared.

Thank you for an amazing first week and for helping Pixel Wild reach the top of the Best New Apps list! Throughout version 1.6, we’ll be rolling out quality-of-life improvements, starting with an easier way to communicate with our team through You → My Reports, available on both iOS and the web. We’ve also temporarily removed Community Maps while we improve privacy, but you can still explore your own discoveries and those shared by your friends. You can now react to your friends’ discoveries and share in the excitement of what everyone is finding. This update also introduces new dojo-themed blocks to collect and decorate with. Profiles now better highlight your captures, making your discoveries stand out even more. You can also add field notes to captures to remember details from your adventures, and a new dog filter makes it easier to browse and discover canine sightings.

Fun facts are now more detailed and engaging to make every discovery feel more alive. Sanctuary editing has also been improved for a smoother experience when organizing your world. You can now unlock special block trophies when discovering a species group for the first time — like earning a Bee Skep after discovering the Apidae family. Thank you to everyone playing and sending feedback — this update is yours. Growing is now caring: your inhabitants grow as you learn about them, so the wait becomes something you do. Daily quests reward you for revisiting species you've discovered. Video capture makes the never-sit-still ones (birds, bugs, fish) far easier to collect. Every discovery card now shows its IUCN conservation status. Plus 1,000+ new species, 30 new blocks, and sanctuaries expanded from 8×8 to 10×10. Now when you discover a species, you’ll uncover even more about their world — from their lifespan and natural biome to how they move, breed, survive, and defend themselves in the wild. We’ve also improved capture details with a side-by-side photo comparison using iNaturalist, making identification clearer and more intuitive. To make exploring your collection even more meaningful in the real world, you can now filter your discoveries by “nearby,” so when you’re out on a walk, you can quickly see what you’ve already found in that area. We also polished the overall experience with smoother interactions, thoughtful UX improvements, and a bunch of bug fixes behind the scenes.
