‘루카 LUCA, Last Universal Common Ancestor’ 란? 찰스 다윈이 「종의 기원」에서 명명한 생명의 나무(The tree of life)에서 가장 밑 기둥에 해당하는 ‘지구상에 현존하는 모든 생물의 공통 조상 생물체’입니다. 경기도 생물다양성의 시작부터 현재를 한 곳에 모으자는 의미로, 『루카(LUCA) – 경기생물다양성탐사』 앱이 경기도 생물다양성 시민 과학 프로젝트의 플랫폼으로 기억되길 바라는 염원을 담았습니다. 루카 앱을 통해 일상에서 찾은 보물, 야생 생물을 기록하고 전문가의 식별 결과를 통해 생물다양성 지식을 쌓아보세요.
