CamPlot Recorder records every microphone plugged into your iPhone or iPad as its own track. Set the DJI Mic 3 receiver to Quadraphonic mode, plug it into the USB-C port, and all four transmitters land on four separate tracks. Hit Record, lock the phone, put it in your pocket.
MADE FOR THE TAKE YOU CAN'T DO AGAIN
• Every mic on its own track: one multitrack WAV per take, or a mono WAV for each mic
• Keeps recording with the screen locked and the phone in a pocket
• Hold to stop, so a stray tap can't end a take
• Saved every two seconds: if the battery dies, the take is there next time you open the app
• Buzzes and tells you if anything stops the recording
CALLS
iOS lets a ringing call take the microphone from any app. CamPlot Recorder shows you before you roll whether a call could get through, and how to switch on Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi off. The receiver keeps working because it is plugged in. If a call does get through, everything so far is saved and the take carries on as the next part.
SLATE, TIMECODE, NAMES
• Slate on Record: a sharp beep the cameras hear, a flash card to hold up, and a marker in the file
• Broadcast WAV with time-of-day timecode at 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 or 30 fps
• Each mic's name is written into the file, so the edit labels the tracks
• 24-bit or 32-bit float, at the receiver's own sample rate
ON SET
• Tap a meter to name the person wearing that mic, even mid-take
• Play takes back with mute and solo on every mic
• Jump from slate to slate
• A before-you-roll checklist for your receiver
• Share takes by AirDrop, Mail or Files; every WAV is in the Files app
WORKS WITH
Tested with the DJI Mic 3 in Quadraphonic mode (four tracks). Anything that sends separate channels over USB-C gets its own meter and track, such as the Hollyland Lark M3, Zoom H6essential, H8 and M4, Tascam Portacapture X8 and X6, and MOTU M4 and M6 in USB audio mode. Two-channel systems such as the RØDE Wireless PRO and GO, Sennheiser Profile Wireless, DJI Mic 2 and DJI Mic Mini record both tracks.
