Decaud is free to use, with every feature included. No subscriptions, paid upgrades or locked features. In-app purchases are optional tips to support development; they do not unlock anything.
Most players display the label on the file. Decaud looks deeper. TrueHz reads sampled windows across a track for spectral evidence consistent with lossy compression. It is evidence, not provenance.
Decaud is a music player for people who care how their files actually reach their ears: hi-res lossless, DSD, and a signal path you can inspect at any moment.
KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HEARING
• TrueHz reads sampled windows for spectral evidence consistent with lossy compression, on songs whose audio is on this device
• Analyzed songs keep their result on the row
• Real-time analyzer, goniometer, phase, and LUFS meters
BUILT FOR SOUND
• An honest signal path: every stage between the file and the output, and what each one does to the audio
• FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, DSF, DFF, APE, WavPack, and more
• DSD plays as PCM with an in-app system-volume slider, shown in Audio Path. Optional native DSD requires a compatible USB DoP DAC, system volume at 100% and confirmation of independent listening-volume control on the DAC or downstream equipment. There is no in-app volume control during native DSD
• Gapless playback, optional crossfade, and headphone crossfeed
• ReplayGain and a 10-band equalizer
MORE WAYS TO LISTEN
• Internet radio from Radio Paradise, SomaFM, FIP, and your own stations, with live titles and covers
• Station creates an endless session from your own library, chosen locally by sound
• Classical browsing understands works, movements, and composers
• The waveform is the seek bar
• Tap the sound information in Now Playing to open Audio Path
ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE
• Stream from NAS and SMB shares and DLNA servers
• Play to AirPlay speakers through the system AirPlay picker
• Control your Mac library from your iPhone over the local network
• iCloud keeps your catalog, ratings, and artwork on your devices in your own account. Sending audio is always a separate, explicit action
A LIBRARY THAT STAYS YOURS
• Copy songs and folders from USB and SD drives to this iPhone or iPad for offline listening, even with the drive disconnected
• Or play files from an attached drive without copying them
• Download seven complimentary DSD64 tracks courtesy of NativeDSD, listen offline, and optionally upload them to iCloud
• Sort As fields change ordering without renaming your music and sync across devices
• Browse the playable library in CarPlay
• Smart playlists, synced lyrics, and compilations
• Your listening history stays private, with optional export to a server you host
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No Decaud account required. No analytics. No tracking. Online metadata lookups are opt-in and send text or audio fingerprints only, never your audio.
더 보기 • Fixed an Up Next navigation-depth crash in CarPlay.
• CarPlay Albums and Artists open directly into alphabet-indexed lists. Selecting an album or artist still opens its songs.
• Starter Pack songs use the published seven-track order in the library without changing the original audio files.
• Starter Pack download status recovers when readable files are reimported and offers downloads again when files are missing. Deliberate album-version separations are preserved.
• Preview and share a read-only audio diagnostics report with the current output name, UID and audio-session port class.
• Clearer explanations distinguish the required DoP carrier rate from a DSD file's rate when native DSD falls back to PCM.
1.7.1 10월 24일
• DSD playback as PCM now has an in-app system-volume slider. The iPad player bar and full-screen iPhone player provide the control without duplicating it in the iPad Now Playing pane.
• Native DSD requires a fresh per-DAC confirmation of independent listening-volume control. Older approvals use PCM until confirmed. There is no in-app volume control during native DSD.
• Changing the native DSD setting pauses playback. Decaud never raises the system volume automatically.
• Audio Output names the connected USB DAC and updates its settings when you plug in, unplug or swap devices, even while paused.
• After a USB audio output changes, remote playback uses DSD as PCM with system volume control until you start playback inside Decaud. Lock-screen and accessory playback controls remain available.
• Native DSD startup waits for the USB output rate to settle. If system volume is below 100%, the explanation identifies the level reported at the last playback attempt and explains how to adjust independent listening volume first.
• Changing system volume pauses native DSD with a clear notification and a persistent explanation. Remote Play continues as PCM; at 100% system volume, Play inside Decaud retries native DSD after the existing device checks.
• Audio Unit bypass status follows the active output. Confirmation dialogs stay open during playback and dismiss when the selected DAC disconnects.
• Added a brief Decaud logo animation at launch and clearer status notifications.
• Improved multi-disc album grouping while preserving deliberate album-version separations.
• TrueHz separates the file format, accompanying info.txt notes and spectral findings. Accompanying notes are labelled unverified, and the origin section stays hidden when no notes are available.
• TrueHz labels content reach separately from a detected spectral cutoff. A positive result does not establish original recording resolution or provenance.
• Added Loom and Tide visualizers under Experimental Features, with an updated Fur look.
• Improved visualizer controls and reduced repeated allocation and copying in the audio analyzer.
1.7 10월 21일
• Fixed missing album artwork when copying music from iCloud Drive or another folder, including separate cover.jpg and Folder.jpg images. If an album you previously imported is missing its cover, import its original album folder again after updating, using Copy to This iPhone or Copy to This iPad. Updating alone does not restore cover images that were not copied. There is no need to reinstall Decaud.
• When selected songs have no readable artwork, Decaud asks for their album folder so the cover can be copied; only the selected songs are imported.
• Audio Path no longer shows Bit-perfect when the output's bit depth is unknown, as on a USB DAC; it says the claim is not established.
• The Dither setting says the output bit depth is unavailable on iPhone and iPad, so Decaud does not apply dither there.
• Audio Path keeps a track's own sample rate after a gapless transition and names any conversion to the output rate.
• Tracks without track numbers stay grouped in their album as new music is imported.
• Starter Pack rows now indicate the playing track and let you pause or resume it.
• On iPhone and iPad, choose whether to remove music from your library or also delete its device copy.
• Copying music now identifies files already on this device.
• Clearer import and copy feedback, shown until you dismiss it.
• Improved iPad status display while navigation panels are open.
• Clearer Audio Path explanations on iPhone and iPad.
• The Leave a Tip row in Settings is easier to find.
• CarPlay Songs opens as an alphabetical list, with Playable Now counts and paging for longer libraries.
1.6 10월 17일
• Audio Path now identifies Bluetooth, AirPlay and CarPlay delivery without claiming bit-perfect output on those routes.
• Audio Output settings now identify Bluetooth and CarPlay delivery consistently with Audio Path instead of presenting them as high-quality or bit-perfect output.
• Fixed gapless transitions retaining the previous track's bit depth in Audio Path.
1.5.3 10월 11일
• Copy music from USB and SD drives to your iPhone or iPad and keep listening after disconnecting the drive. Large imports check available space before copying.
• More reliable interrupted imports: reconnect your drive and retry while playback continues. Completion messages clear correctly.
• A new three-page welcome explains your library, TrueHz and Audio Path. Home, Library, Collections and Settings have a clearer, more consistent appearance in light and dark modes.
• See source format and output information in Now Playing. Tap it to inspect the full Audio Path.
• Improved Continue Listening readability, consistent Library and Collections headers, and better layouts in Headphone Correction, track information and Now Playing.
• TrueHz distinguishes positive, inconclusive and older results more clearly. Its explanation describes sampled analysis and its limits, including analysis of decoded DSD.
• Turning off iCloud sync now hides cloud-only music while keeping downloaded music and available local sources visible. Your catalog, ratings and playlists are preserved.
• With iCloud sync off, Continue Listening hides paused songs that aren’t available to play on this device. Music copied onto the device remains available.
• Improved artist recommendations and photo matching.
• Clearer iCloud cleanup controls, with separate actions for catalog reset and uploaded files.
• Fixed an upgrade issue where background library migrations could overwrite newer song information.
1.5.1 9월 30일
• NativeDSD Starter Pack on Home: seven complimentary DSD64 tracks, courtesy of NativeDSD. Downloads stay local; uploading to iCloud is optional.
• Optional native DSD over USB on iPhone works with a compatible, verified DAC. Audio Path shows the route; listening volume stays on the DAC.
• DSD files retain their correct format labels and source rates.
• Scope in Now Playing brings together the spectrum, goniometer and meters. Fur is available under Experimental Features.
• Add an entire album to iCloud from its menu. Manage Grouping opens with the selected album.
• Sort As fields order Songs, Albums, Artists and Composers and sync safely, including deliberate clears. CarPlay continues to sort by displayed names.
• Ratings, favorites and play counts preserve valid analysis results. Artist matching now handles unambiguous spelling variants.
• Mac pairing respects denials, and library availability reflects files the Mac can actually serve.
1.5 9월 19일
- Shows your Mac's whole library over Wi-Fi, no iCloud needed: songs play from the Mac at home and can be downloaded to the iPhone, with progress on each row and honest status if a transfer stalls.
- Adds CarPlay browsing and playback for songs Decaud can actually play from the iPhone or an attached USB-C or SD drive, with alphabetical ranges for long lists and a catalog that follows drives as they connect.
- Filters Songs and Albums by location, quality, and favorites. Albums gains a Grid/List view menu; Songs gains sorting by title, artist, date added or year, with optional format labels.
- Adds favorite artists, an Artists filter, a search field under every title, a fixed A to Z index, and calmer song rows that show formats only on request.
- Makes Remote its own screen with an Exit, so the Mac's transport never sits under the phone's own player.
- Keeps large libraries responsive: sync arrives in pages, lists load off the main thread, and a song that fails to start never plays under another name.

• Rebuilds missing library entries from audio files already stored in Decaud’s iCloud Drive folder without uploading, moving, or deleting them.
• Finds exact duplicate iCloud audio and safely keeps one file and one library entry for each song.
• Prevents catalog sync from restoring a duplicate that was just removed.
• Includes the latest playback reliability improvements.

Decaud 1.2.2 improves library reliability and responsiveness:
• Prevents repeated imports from creating duplicate library entries.
• Makes waveforms appear much faster when playing a track for the first time, including large DSD files.
• Adds whole-album removal and automatically closes an album after its final track is removed.
• Repairs track order for clearly identified vinyl-side files such as A1, A2, and B1.
• Improves artist artwork framing and general library consistency.
1.2.2 8월 26일
• AirPlay to Apple TV: cast to an Apple TV running tvOS 27. Set an AirPlay password on the TV (Settings, AirPlay and HomeKit, Require Password) and Decaud will ask for it.
• Control playback from the receiver: Apple TV remote controls now support play, pause, next, previous, and seeking within a track.
• Now playing on the receiver: title, artist, album, and artwork follow the track on Apple TV.
• HomePod stereo pairs appear as one destination, the way they do in Apple Music. Both speakers play, and tap-to-pause holds.
• Sonos over DLNA shows artwork and track details, with playback controls in Decaud.
• Fixes: Next works immediately after launch, casting connects on the first try more reliably, and receiver metadata follows rapid track changes.
1.2 8월 15일
Decaud 1.1 is the biggest update yet: radio, a smarter library, and deeper control over your DAC.
• Internet radio: Radio Paradise in FLAC, SomaFM, and FIP, plus your own custom stations. Live song titles and album covers, honest stream quality labels, and the EQ works on live streams.
• Waveform seek bar: the track's real shape is the scrubber, on the Mac player bar and the iPhone hero.
• Classical browsing: works and movements grouped the way box sets deserve, composer pages, and a works tree that understands vinyl rips with messy tags.
• Station: start an endless play session from any song. Decaud picks what sounds alike from your own library, no cloud involved.
• Audio Unit plug-ins (Mac): host your own AU effects in the playback chain, with honest signal path labels. They apply in exclusive mode too, and native DSD stays untouched.
• Device volume in the player bar (Mac): control a DAC that has no knob, even in exclusive mode, without touching the audio samples.
• Native DSD asks first: DoP is sent only to DACs you confirm, so a PCM only dongle never plays noise. Unsupported rates now fall back to the device's best rate and widest bit depth instead of a stale low setting.
• Exclusive mode now returns the device to macOS while paused, so the rest of your Mac keeps its sound.
• Network shares handled honestly: playback waits and resumes when a share reconnects and says so, covers and file info never stall the app, and analysis is polite to the share while music plays from it.
• Crossfeed for headphones: three classic presets, applied honestly, never in exclusive mode.
• Smart playlists with live rules, plus a watch folder that imports anything you drop into it.
• WavPack (.wv) playback, including cue sheet albums.
• Chromecast casting joins AirPlay and DLNA.
• Dozens of fixes: a radio stability fix for long sessions, readable album pages on iOS in every color, clearer settings switches, and more.
Decaud stays free, private, and bit-perfect. No account, no subscription, no tracking.
