Show Notes now remember where you left off, AirPlay gives you better multi-speaker control, shared Clips play back seamlessly, Up Next syncs more smoothly between Apple Watch and iPhone, and the app won’t surprise you by autoplaying – plus, the Radioactive theme has officially retired. Removing Radioactive lets us simplify the app and focus on features you actually use.

We’re warming up your listening game this winter. Long-press to quickly deselect episodes when you’ve tapped one too many. Adding episodes to playlists is faster than ever. Playing via home screen widgets and reordering episodes in Up Next both work more reliably. Episodes will no longer cut out early—they’ll play all the way to the frosty end.

We’ve always believed podcasting should remain open, accessible, and creator-owned. In a world dominated by closed platforms, we’re committed to supporting the open RSS ecosystem. To help sustain that mission, this release re-introduces banner ads to support our ongoing work. Banner ads won’t be shown to Plus or Patron subscribers or users who created a Pocket Casts account prior to September 2019 – thank you for your support. This update also brings a smoother start for new users with improved account creation during onboarding with User Stories, Interests, and Recommendations. We’ve fixed an issue where the You Might Like tab would reload when returning to it. Navigation should now feel smoother and more consistent. The About screen now displays the correct background color across all themes.

We fixed the Podcast Chooser filter’s bottom margin, restoring harmony to pixels everywhere. Notifications will finally respect your wishes and stop ghosting you even after you told them “we’re done.”

The How to Upload screen is now localized thanks to a wonderful community contributor. Now it speaks your language! You can now share the text from transcripts with a single tap! This is great for sharing with Notes or AI apps for summarization. Restoring from Up Next Queue History works more reliably now. We've fixed App Clip playback and notification requests. Our mini app, with maximum manners. The player won't reload mid-stream anymore, banishing those mid-stream audio hiccups.

We hunted down some bugs: trending notifications make sense again, and scrubbing to the end on the lock screen won’t skip episodes anymore. Smooth listening all around!

Our app now gives failed requests a second chance. If you’re streams and downloads failed before, please give them another try. Before we beg for those precious 5 stars, we’ll ask for your feedback first. Think of it as a friendly “How are we doing?” before the desperate “PLEASE REVIEW US!”

We’ve taught Serial-style shows some manners and they’ll now play in the right order. iPad login fields no longer jump ship when the keyboard appears. Player action shelf buttons behave even with Display Zoom enabled. Your top podcast categories now know they’re the favorites and rise to the top in Discover. We’ll nudge you before using your precious data over cellular.

The transcript excerpt in the episode view has been redesigned to take up less space! We’ve also added Play and Pause controls to transcripts from the episode view, making it easier to follow along without missing a beat. We’ve increased the tap area for the “X” button in recent search suggestions, because missing it many times in a row wasn’t fun for anyone.

Streaming just got smoother! We've tuned up our download settings so your podcasts play nice, even on slow Wi-Fi. Now you can check out transcript excerpts right from the episode view—no more guessing what's inside! Episode artwork is looking sharp again, and no more stretched covers! Your podcasts deserve to look as good as they sound.
