Vimala English Vidyalaya started functioning at Velloorkonam in June 2000 and it was shifted to Kalathara in 2004. From the very inception it runs with a view to impart education suited to the changing needs and aspirations of our country.
Vimala English Vidyalaya is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (CBSE/Aff No. 930979) and it will follow syllabi and courses as per scheme of studies prescribed by the NCERT and changes made by CBSE therein from time to time.
The school owned and managed by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, concerns its service in the field of education. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselious Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, the head of the Malankara Catholic Church and the Major Archbishop of Trivandrum is the Patron of the school. There are three streams of schools under the ownership of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum namely, CBSE schools, ICSE schools and the state syllabus schools function in the aided and unaided sectors.
For the last 85 years, the Major Archdiocese has been rendering excellent service to the society by providing quality education to thousands of students across the nation. Its goal in its educational undertakings has always been something more than the mediocre. Through its educational institutions, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum has tried to reach to all sections of the society, without at the same time compromising on quality, values and excellence. The educational programme of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum is guided by principles and the universal values of the Gospel.
It offers the children the advantage of the best academic, training, providing Excellence in Mental, Physical, Moral, Cultural, Emotional and Spiritual Development. This School gives special emphasis to develop children as good citizens and prepares them for service and responsible for Nation building.
We strongly believe that to empower an individual, education is the basic necessity. Education liberates mind and creates a process in oneself and make him/her a competitive and confident individual. Our efforts are sincere towards imparting quality education which is the foundation for a bright future.
Admission to this School is open to all, irrespective of Caste and Creed. We are especially concerned that no student of this area should be deprived of good education just because he /she is financially poor. Keeping in mind the aspirations of the parents and students we have come up with the Vimala English Vidyalaya at Kalathara in Thiruvanathapuram District, where the priorities are high moral standard, academic excellence, self-realization, emotional stability and mutual trust.
