word counter that keeps your writing. Type or paste, and the count stays above the keyboard. Words and characters, always in front of you, never behind the keys. Your writing is never lost. Every keystroke is written to this device the moment you make it. Force-quit the app, run out of battery, come back a week later — the text is still there. Most apps in this category save when you leave, which is exactly when a crash takes your work. No character limit. Not at a thousand characters, not at ten thousand. Nothing is held back and there is nothing to buy. A tool for counting words should not stop counting words. Pick a goal and see what is left. 24 presets in four groups — application essays, exam essays, abstracts, short posts, text messages, profile headlines, search descriptions, page titles, cover letters and more. Or set your own number and unit. Going past a goal is readable without colour. The bar turns and the number goes negative, so you know at a glance and not only by hue. Ten measures, not one. Words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs, lines, unique words, average sentence length, silent reading time, and read-aloud time at the speaking rate you choose. It shows you your longest sentence. Quoted in full, with its word count, so you can find it and cut it. That one is usually the one to fix. The counting rules are published. The About screen states exactly what counts as a word, a sentence and a paragraph. Other counters disagree with each other and never say why. Nothing you write leaves this phone. There is no account, no upload, and no networking code in this app at all. No permission is requested.
