This APP is for personal and private meditation. It is designed as a personal lab for your own experimentation and relaxation.
It creates a pure sinusoidal tone of a selected frequency in each ear.
The left and right ear tones have individual frequencies where the difference is in the Alpha brain frequency range (8 to 12 Hz). For best results you should use headphones or earbuds to ensure that each ear only hears the single tone for that ear.
Although these pure tones are unique to each ear, your brain will detect the frequency difference and will create a beat frequency in the Alpha range which you will sense. Your brain will respond to this Alpha beat frequency and will start to generate a matching Alpha signal.
Learning to achieve the Alpha state of consciousness will relax you and help to put you in a more creative state of mind. These Alpha brain frequencies are produced by the thalamus and/or occipital regions of the brain. This state of mind is normally reached during prolonged meditation. Relax, be patient and experiment with different frequencies and Alpha values to find the right tones that relax you.
Alpha frequencies have also been used in pain management so again take time to experiment with different frequencies and alpha values to find the right values for you. Usually lower frequencies have a more soothing effect at first.
