This app searches through the iOS standard photo apps to find photos looking similar to a designated one.
Until now, you had no choice but to search with the eyes if you wanted to find similar photos to a certain one in the iOS standard photo apps. Using this app, searching becomes easy.
- When did I visit places with similar landscape?
- Are there photos I took with the same people?
- Did I have this kind of beverage before?
There are some apps that search and download similar looking photos from the internet, but this is the first app to search through your own photos saved on your device.
It is a new photo searching app never seen before.
While it is a very simple app that does not do anything else except searching for similar looking photos, we think it will be of great use for many people.
■How to use
First, please press the button "create database" to create a database of your images. This may take a while, but it ensures you will be able to use the search function at a high speed afterwards.
After having created the database, you can press the button "search" in the left upper corner of the screen to choose a photo and conduct a search. It will display up to 200 photos at once sorted by degree of similarity. The special quality of the searching algorithm is that it produces searching results maybe not totally congruent with, but quite close to the human perception and lists them in order so it becomes easy for you to find the photos you looked for.
Date and place are displayed together with the photos that were found, so you can check "where" and "when" at once.
If you tap onto a photo out of the search results, the location of the photo in the list of all photos will be displayed. You will be able to easily search for related photos coming in order before or after the photo you found as well.
You will be able to quickly find the photo you looked for as it is also possible to repeat the similarity search for the photos you found here.
■The latest technology
We use the latest iOS technology Vision Framework for our search function for similar images to realize a highly precise search function for similar photos.
Further, since image recognition is an operation that can take a lot of time, we came up with the idea to create a database with image recognition information in this app to speed up the search process. Also, the app is able to support new versions of the iOS image recognition algorithm in case it will be renewed in the future.
