ShellsBook is a field guide for beachcombers and shell collectors who want to identify seashells from visible traits instead of guessing from a single photo.
Inside the app:
- 18 researched seashell entries with common name, scientific name, family, habitat, ocean range, field marks, size, shape, color pattern, and rarity.
- Look-alike comparisons for cowries, conchs, scallops, olives, moon shells, and more.
- Conservation and handling notes that remind users to leave live or protected shells in place and follow local rules.
- A local notebook for finds, beach notes, and locations typed by the user.
- An AI conchology coach for morphology, habitat, and responsible collection questions.
The full guide and notebook work without an account. Free users get three coach asks per day. ShellsBook Pro unlocks unlimited coach questions through Apple StoreKit.
Privacy: notes stay on device. Coach asks send only the selected shell details and the user's question to our Cloudflare Worker so it can return an answer. No ads, no analytics SDK, no camera upload, no precise location permission, and no login.
