SnailGit is a TortoiseGit-like Git client, implemented as a Finder extension.
SnailGit allows you to access the most frequently used Git features from the Finder context menu.
SnailGit also adds icon overlays to your Git repositories in Finder. It tracks your Git repositories and updates the icon overlays automatically, providing visual feedback of the current state of the repositories.
In a few steps, you can start using SnailGit easily:
1. Enable "SnailGit Extension" in "System Preferences » Extensions".
2. Clone a Git repository with SnailGit (File » Git Clone...) or add an existing Git repository to SnailGit.
3. Navigate to your repository in Finder and right click to access SnailGit functionalities.

Q: There is no icon overlays / context menu for the files?
A: Please make sure that you've enabled "SnailGit Extension" in "System Preferences » Extensions", and also make sure that you've added the repository to SnailGit Preferences.
If your Git repository is monitored by multiple Finder extensions, please make sure that SnailGit Extension comes first in "System Preferences » Extensions » Finder", you can drag and drop the extensions to adjust the order.
If the problem persists, please disable "SnailGit Extension" in "System Preferences » Extensions" and then enable it again. The last resort is to relaunch Finder or restart your computer.
Q: What kind of URL schemes does SnailGit support?
A: SnailGit supports the following URL schemes:

• ssh://
Q: Does SnailGit work well with other Git clients?
A: In theory, SnailGit works with any kinds of Git clients that is compatible with Git 2.6, from the command line client to the GUI apps.
Q: SnailGit command-line interface?
A: The SnailGit command-line interface is located at "/Applications/SnailGit.app/Contents/Resources/snailgit.sh".
Q: Does SnailGit work for file managers other than Finder?
A: SnailGit is primarily a Finder extension, so it is likely that it will not work for other file managers.
사고 조금 후회했었는데, 개발자가 놀지않았네요. 지금은 좀 쓸만합니다.참고로 설정이 잘 안되시면, 기존에 사용하던 .gitconfig가 아닌, SnailGit 환경설정의 .gitconfig를 편집해 사용하시면 됩니다.예를들면...custom diff tool이 설정 메뉴에는 있지만, GUI상에서는 변경 불가능하죠. .gitconfig에 직접 기입하세요.도움말이 환경설정 메뉴에 조그마한 ? 아이콘으로 한 구석에 있습니다. 그걸 보셔도 도움이 될것같아요.

윈도우용 tortoisGit을 아마 아실 껍니다. 윈도우의 탐색기와 완벽히 통합하여 쓰기에 편리합니다. 하지만 윈도우와 같이 맥의 파인더에서도 동일한 품질을 기대하시면 안사는게 좋습니다. 파인더에 표시되는 메뉴가 윈도우의 절반에 불과하고 오류도 더 많은 것 같습니다. 아직 돈주고 살 만큼 품질이 올라 온것 같지 않아서 당장은 추천하고 싶지 않군요.
SourceTree를 사용하다가 갈아탔습니다.

Soruce Tree보다 더 가볍고 직관적으로 사용할 수 있어서 갈아탔습니다.윈도우에서 사용하던 SVN 클라이언트와 흡사하게 사용할 수 있어서 매우 매력적으로 다가왔습니다.정상적으로 pull 된 파일이 너무 자주 무시목록인 것 처럼 표시가 되는 등의 아이콘 오류는 빠른 수정이 필요해 보입니다.
