SolveBoxes is a challenging logic puzzle game that combines mathematical reasoning with spatial pattern recognition. Players work with 3x3 binary grids where each cell is either filled (value 1) or empty (value 0), and must solve arithmetic puzzles by performing overlay operations. The core gameplay involves two grids and an operation (addition or subtraction). For addition, players combine grids using logical OR operations, counting overlapping filled cells once. For subtraction, players remove cells from the first grid based on the second grid using logical AND with NOT operations. The challenge is to quickly determine how many filled cells remain in the result grid after the operation. The game features three difficulty levels that adjust both time limits and grid complexity. Easy mode provides 30 seconds per question with 1-3 filled cells per grid. Medium mode offers 20 seconds with 2-5 filled cells. Hard mode challenges players with only 10 seconds and up to 7 filled cells per grid. Players earn 10 points for each correct answer and lose 5 points for incorrect answers or timer expiration. The game tracks progress through a comprehensive leaderboard system that records top scores for each difficulty level. Players can complete up to 50 questions in a single game session for maximum challenge. SolveBoxes includes multiple visual themes including Magical Crystal, Neon Cyberpunk, Space Explorer, and Retro Gaming, each with unique color schemes and visual effects. The game features sound effects, pause functionality, and detailed statistics tracking to monitor accuracy and performance over time.
