I’ve met the worst teacher

Hello, I would love to clarify that there are no problems regarding the app design or navigation. However, the teacher named Jeremy B. spoiled my first impression of the whole app. I booked a trial lesson with him for April 20th. When 6 minutes left before the beginning of lesson he asked to reschedule it for April 21st, to which I kindly agreed. Today Jeremy B. cancelled the lesson 2 minutes before it started, citing connection issues. “You can no longer contact this tutor” was the notification which led me to the conclusion that he blocked me. I got neither refund nor apologies from this incompetent teacher and app developers. This is the highest form of disrespect for a student, who paid in time and was patiently waiting to improve her knowledge.

I had a terrible experience with a tutor named Nelya A., who presents herself as a psychologist. She explicitly promised to stay in touch, yet when I needed her support as a specialist, she ignored my messages for three days. This is completely unprofessional for anyone working in mental health.On top of that, when I got sick with a high fever and requested to reschedule our session, she refused. After I left an honest review reflecting her cold response and lack of communication, she simply blocked me on the platform.When I contacted Preply Support, I was met with generic template responses about "internal policies and GDPR" instead of real support. Blocking paying students for leaving honest feedback is unacceptable. Preply fails to protect its clients from such behavior.
Referral Program Failed, Support Refused to help

I was happy with Preply until I experienced their referral program.I personally invited a friend using my referral link and even helped them register. My friend purchased a trial lesson and then subscribed. Preply gained a new paying customer because of my recommendation.However, I never received the promised referral reward. Customer support admitted that I had shared the referral link, but claimed their system did not record the registration through it. Despite screenshots and multiple conversations with different agents, they refused to honor the referral because they relied only on their internal system.What disappointed me most was not losing the reward, but the way the case was handled. My evidence was disregarded, the case was repeatedly marked as resolved, and I received contradictory responses from different agents.This experience completely destroyed my trust in Preply. If you plan to rely on their referral program, be aware that if their tracking system fails, you may be left without the promised reward.
