Your privacy is our priority. With end-to-end encryption, you can be sure that your personal messages and calls stay between you and who you send them to. And no one, not even WhatsApp, can read or listen to them.
Simple and secure connections, right away
All you need is your phone number - no usernames or logins needed. Easily view your contacts on WhatsApp and start messaging. And what's more, you can easily link your other devices, including iPads, for seamless connectivity.
High quality voice and video calls
Enjoy free, secure video and voice calls with up to 32 people for free. Your calls work across devices, even on slower connections, using your phone or tablet’s Internet service.
Group chats to keep you in contact
Stay close to friends and family through end-to-end encrypted group chats and calls. Share messages, photos, videos and documents across mobile, tablet, and desktop. You can also use call links and screen-sharing to make group calls and collaboration easy.
Stay connected in real time
You can share your location with those in your individual or group chats while using WhatsApp on your mobile phone. Or record a voice message for those moments when just text isn't good enough.
Share daily moments through Status
Share your everyday life with those who matter. With Status you can share text, photos, video, and GIF updates that disappear after 24 hours. You're always in control of who sees your status. Just choose who you want to share it with - all your contacts or selected ones. And bring your everyday to life.

Dear Team,I would like to suggest to add unnatural for skin colours for hand & people emojis like red, blue, green, black, orange etc. The reason is that I would like to avoid any misunderstandings related to race issues. I would prefer to use real black for these emojis just because I like it. Since this option is not available, I use the darkest brown colour just because it’s the darkest one, i.e. closest to real black. As you might understand my skin colour doesn’t match my emoji colour preferences at all. Also, I think colour diversity in these emojis would actually help reduce tension for those who might feel affected by race issues; let people self express more by personalising their emojis more detailed; and just make chats more colourful and bright. Thanks!!
Several gripes with the messenger

When it comes to general messaging and call usability, WhatsApp is pretty decent. It has most of the required features with proper stability. However, it pales in comparison with competitors if we talk about broader features and comfort of interaction with the service on anything beyond the phone. 1. WhatsApp web is bad. It is clunky and just not great to use, but also requirement to have phone online almost defeats the purpose. 2. No app for iPad. You have the client for pc, why can’t you make it for iPad too? So I could avoid damned WhatsApp web. Telegram has a client for every major device and OS with full functionality and comfort, whereas multibillion Meta can’t do that (where’s insta for iPad btw?)3. File and photo storage is very weird. Don’t you have cloud storage or something? WhatsApp straight up can’t be trusted if you expect to potentially access photos/files from the chat long term, because they can easily disappear with only a ghost that tells you to ask sender to resend. There’s no such issue in Telegram. In conclusion, I am kind of sad that WhatsApp became the default messenger for general population in my country. Issues above are not conclusive of all my dissatisfaction with WhatsApp, but they’re the most glaring ones. Hope you can address this in foreseeable future.

I type in search a persons name and press the name but it doesn't allow me to choose this person. I have to again type in search that persons name and only from the second time can I choose him as a recepient and send a message. This bag was introduced lately, about a week ago after one of the updates. Please fix it, it's so irritating. It happens when u set up self destruct in 24hrs. When I remove automatic self destruct choosing any name from the contacts is fine. Please fix this bug!
a suggestion for the convenience of users

Everything in your WhatsApp app suits me, except for the fact that there is no separate section to view video notes, which is very inconvenient. People have become more comfortable sending videos through video notes rather than in the regular format. Files and media sent in chat can be viewed in separate sections, which is great, because they may contain important information and it is much easier to search for them in a dedicated section. However, there is no such feature for video notes, which is very inconvenient. When you want to find a specific video note that was sent in a chat, you have to scroll through the chat to find it, which is very inconvenient and takes a lot of time.
We update the app regularly to fix bugs, optimize performance and improve the experience. Thanks for using WhatsApp!
