3D Capture Pro uses the camera of your iPhone or iPad to capture an object from every side. Your photos travel over your own Wi-Fi to your own Mac, where the free 3D Capture Pro Studio app builds the 3D model with Apple's Object Capture and sends it back to your phone. There is no account, no cloud and no upload to the internet.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Install the free 3D Capture Pro Studio app on your Mac (macOS 15 or newer). The download link is in Settings.
2. Open Studio, then scan its QR code with this app to pair your devices.
3. Walk slowly around your object. For best results, take 40 to 100 sharp, overlapping photos of a still, textured object. AR Guided mode shows which angles are still missing.
4. Tap Done, then Build 3D Model on Mac. The finished model comes back to your phone by itself.
CAPTURE YOUR WAY
- AR Guided: tap the object and the app follows it. Ghost target spots and arrows lead you around it, and a live point cloud of tracked features helps you see your coverage.
- Classic: coverage rings from the motion sensors guide you. It does not need AR surface placement.
- In Classic mode, auto shutter takes a photo each time you hold steady at a new angle, after your first photo.
BUILD AND KEEP
- Choose Preview, Reduced, Medium or Full quality.
- "Only the object" tries to remove the floor and the background. Results depend on the object and your photos. Turn it off to keep the whole scene.
- Build Again makes another model from the same photos and keeps every earlier one.
- Spin and view your models in the app, and share them as USDZ files.
- Interrupted photo transfers resume after reconnecting, while both apps are open.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Your photos and models stay on your own devices.
- The link between your iPhone and your Mac is encrypted, and your phone only talks to the Mac you paired with.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- It works on a Wi-Fi that has no internet.
REQUIRES
- A Mac with macOS 15 or newer that supports Apple's Object Capture, running the free 3D Capture Pro Studio app, on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone or iPad.
- Capturing and saving photo sets works on its own. Building a 3D model needs Studio.
- iOS 18 or newer. AR Guided mode needs a device that supports ARKit.
