more Never lose a ride again
If the app is force-closed or crashes while you're on the ride summary screen — before you've hit Save — your ride is now recovered automatically the next time you open the app. This works just like mid-ride recovery: your route, distance, time, and stats are all waiting for you to finish saving.
See and manage hazards before you save
Hazards you mark during a ride now appear on the route preview on the summary screen, so you can confirm they landed in the right spot before saving. Forgot to drop one on the trail? Long-press the map to add it. Marked one by mistake? Tap it to delete. No need to wait until after the ride is saved.
New "My Rides" map layer on the Ride screen
Toggle a new layer to see the polylines of every ride you've personally tracked, colored by difficulty and drawn on top of the trail layer with a clean white outline so they're easy to tell apart from MVUM/BLM trails. Tap any of your ride lines to jump straight into that ride's details. The trails and My Rides layers work independently, so you can show either or both.
Hazard reporting is now owner-only
You can add self-reported hazards from your own rides — live on the trail or afterward — but not on someone else's ride. Everyone still sees every hazard on the map; only placement is restricted to rides you actually did.
Summary screen polish
A one-tap clear button on the Ride Title field.
A subtle "Scroll down to save" hint so the Save button is never missed.
Clearer, more intuitive map control icons.

This update makes the community hazard layer more useful before and during every ride.
- See hazards before you ride: reported hazards now appear on the pre-ride map, so you know what's ahead before you hit Start, not just once you're moving.
- Hazards work offline: download an area's imagery and its hazards come with it, so water crossings, rock steps, and other obstacles stay visible even with no signal.
- Flag a hazard that's gone: tap any hazard you didn't place and use "Not here?" to let other riders know it's no longer there. Your report turns green to confirm.
- Smoother hazard map: clearer markers and callouts so it's obvious what each hazard is and what you can do with it.
Thanks for riding with BraapTrax. Keep the reports coming and stay safe out there.

Feed: "Explore" → "Public Rides"
The Feed's second tab is now Public Rides (globe icon) — a ride feed with the same cards, look, and pagination as Friend Feed, no longer Pro-gated. It shows every public ride, your friends' friends-only rides, and all of your own rides (including private), newest first.
The old Explore surface (rides list/map toggle, filters, verified-trail browser) is removed from the Feed page. Friend Feed is unchanged and stays the default.
Tapping a ride routes correctly (your own opens the editable detail; others' open the social detail).
Verified-trail details now on the ride maps (Pro)
On both the pre-ride and active-ride maps, tapping a verified trail shows name + difficulty free for everyone. A Details section is Pro-gated: free users get the paywall; Pro users get the full trail detail (distance, elevation, type, allowed vehicles, photos) plus Save Route and Load Route. The trail browser that used to live in Explore is retired, with its detail screen reused here.
Added a Back button to the trail detail drawer.
Offline imagery downloads — more options
Per-route download: from a trail's detail drawer, download satellite imagery for just that trail's corridor (Standard / High-Detail, with size estimates, progress, and delete).
Box download now grabs everything in the box — the full rectangle of imagery, not just the trails passing through it.
Area download added to the active-ride screen — box-select and download imagery mid-ride (recording keeps running; follow freezes so the box stays put).
Loaded routes on the ride maps
You can tap a loaded route again — it re-opens its trail card, where you can view details or Unload it. Clean load/unload toggle.
Loaded routes now render as a solid highlighted line (bright core + soft glow) instead of a dashed line.
Active-ride top bar cleanup
2.0.4 13 Jun
Massive trail expansion. Hundreds of thousands of USFS (MVUM) and BLM routes are now on the map across the country.
Faster, smoother maps. Trails load quicker and use far less data while you browse and ride.
Know your source. Every trail now shows where its data comes from, USFS, BLM, actual rider data, or BraapTrax Verified.
Cleaner exploring. Zoomed out, trails group into numbered clusters; tap one to jump straight to the routes. Zoom in for full trail detail.
Reliability fixes. Trails now render consistently everywhere, including higher-elevation and northern areas that could previously come up empty.
2.0.3 9 Jun
Explore a whole new world of trails.
We just added a massive database of verified off-road trails — including the full national USFS motor vehicle network — right on your Explore map.
Thousands of USFS trails — browse routes near you on satellite imagery, and tap any trail for details.
Filter by your ride — show only what you can legally ride: Motorcycle, ATV/Side-by-Side, or 4x4.
Know before you go — every trail is tagged by width: Single Track, 50", or Full-Width (4x4).
Zoom out, see it all — area trail counts cluster on the map so you can find your next ride spot fast.
Trails while you ride — nearby verified trails now show live on your active-ride map. Tap one to highlight its full route so you always know where it goes.
Smoother and faster — improved map panning, loading, and overall polish across Explore and the ride screen.
Get out there and find your next line.
2.0.2 7 Jun
Trail Awareness, right on your map
While you set up or record a ride, nearby verified trails now show up live on your map—color-coded by difficulty with their names—so you always know what you're riding. Tap any trail to see its name and difficulty. Free for everyone.
Pro: act on the trails you find
Spotted a line you want? Load it onto your ride to follow it, save it to your routes, and download offline satellite imagery so it's there when you lose signal—all right from the map.
Rode With, reinvented
Tagging a riding buddy now applies instantly—no more waiting for them to accept. They get a heads-up notification, can jump straight to the ride, and can remove themselves anytime. Every feed post now shows who rode along (and flags when you were tagged).
Show/Hide Password
Tap the eye to double-check what you typed before signing in or changing your password.
Map & polish
• Your recorded track stays on top of trail overlays, so you can always see exactly where you've been
• Open any ride straight from a friend's profile
• Cleaner trail lines, smoother trail tapping, and various performance fixes
2.0.1 6 Jun
Ride multiple routes in one session
Planning a day that links two or three trails? You can now load several saved routes into a single ride—no more stopping and restarting to switch. Stage multiple routes before you drop in, or add another one mid-ride without ever pausing your recording. Each route gets its own color on the map and its own offline satellite imagery, and overlapping areas only download once to save space. A new in-ride menu lets you see what's loaded and drop a route on the fly.
Know your real pace: Moving Average Speed
Rode the same loop as your buddies and somehow everyone's average speed was identical? We added Moving Avg to your ride detail and post-ride summary—it's your speed while actually moving, so it finally separates riders who were charging from riders who were waiting at the regroup.
Smarter engine hours
Engine hours now track your actual moving time instead of total elapsed time, so a long lunch stop with the bike off won't push your maintenance intervals early. Your Garage hours line up better with real wear.
Verified Trails, faster and nearer
Verified Trails is now a clean map-first experience that loads the trails around you, so it opens fast and shows what's actually rideable nearby. When several trails share a trailhead, tap the grouped marker to pick exactly the one you want from a clean list.
Little things that add up
Search your friends list when tagging riders after a ride
Ride titles are now front and center in the Feed and Explore
Swipe to delete saved routes
"Save Route" on verified trails moved up so it's reachable without scrolling
2.0 27 May
See which way the ride went.
• Your ride map now shows direction-of-travel arrows along the polyline,
so you (or anyone you share a ride with) can tell at a glance which
way the ride was ridden. Shown on ride detail, post-ride summary,
saved-route previews, verified-trail detail, and the trim screen.
Clearer unrated rides
• Rides without a difficulty rating now draw as a clean yellow line,
distinct from the four rated tiers (green / blue / black / red), so
there's no confusion about what a route's coloring means.
Behind the scenes
• Bug fixes and data handling improvements
1.9 20 May
Verified Trails are here.
• Discover hand-curated, verified trails in Explore — browse by region in a list or see them all on the map, color-coded by difficulty.
• Open any trail for its full route, photos, stats, and difficulty rating.
• Save a trail and it drops straight into your Saved Routes — ready to ride and follow on the map, with offline satellite imagery support.
Elevation profiles
• Record a ride and get a full elevation profile graph — see exactly where the climbs and descents are across the whole ride, with max and min elevation, instead of just two numbers.
Polish & fixes
• One consistent difficulty color system for route lines everywhere — feed, Explore, ride detail, saved routes, and verified trails — so a trail reads the same wherever you see it.
• Editing a ride's difficulty now updates its map line instantly.
• Various stability and visual fixes.
1.8 17 May
We miss some things, so version 1.7. handles some bug fixes for bugs missed in version 1.7 including formatting mistakes, and a calculation error on the stats page that fed into the leaderboard pages.
1.7.1 7 May
The Ride tab got a full rebuild — your live location is front and center, with every control on a single bottom stack.
What's new
• Map-first Ride tab: full-screen satellite map, START / Saved Routes / Vehicle / Ride Type all stacked cleanly at the bottom.
• Persistent compass at the top with a live heading indicator. Tap to cycle north-up vs heading-up, and it stays where you put it.
• Locate-me button cycle: re-center, then heading-up, then back. Same gesture you'd expect from onX.
• Default vehicle: pick one in the Garage and the Ride tab auto-selects it. A star badge marks the default.
• Coverage indicator on the map: translucent shaded area showing exactly where your downloaded offline imagery extends.
• New 4-star difficulty rating with onX-style trail colors — green, blue, black, red. Existing 5-star ratings convert automatically.
• Substring friend search: find riders by any part of their username or display name, not just the start.
• Stronger password requirements on sign-up: 8+ characters with upper, lower, number, and special.
Polish
• Tap rider names in ride details, comments, and tag rows to jump straight to their profile.
• Vehicles stat card on Profile now opens the Garage tab.
• Stats and Garage ride counts now self-heal on view — what the tile says is what the list shows.
• Friend request row no longer wraps the Accept / Decline buttons mid-word on smaller iPhones.
• Saved Route detail page reordered so the primary action is up top.
Thanks for riding with BraapTrax.
