In this update, we have implemented significant changes to the core program. For those interested, here is a look at the technical objectives and the reasoning behind these changes. 1. Separation of "4:6 Method Settings" and "App Settings" Previously, all internal data—such as brewing recipes (BeforeChecklist, mill settings, etc.) and general app configurations—was managed as a single data set. However, as features expanded, we realized that certain values, like coffee bean weight, should remain consistent even when switching between different recipes. With this update, we have separated the "4:6 method brewing parameters" from the "app-level configurations." This ensures that bean weight is maintained across different recipes and provides the scalability needed to implement future requests, such as customizing display settings (e.g., toggling the 1/100th of a second display on the stopwatch). 2. Improving Calculation Precision: Transition to Integer-Based Management The 4:6 method involves dividing the total water volume into five separate pours. Previously, these calculations used floating-point numbers (grams and seconds). Due to the nature of binary representation in computers, repeating calculations with 0.1g units can lead to tiny rounding errors. Until now, the app has used ad-hoc fixes to hide these discrepancies from the UI. To fundamentally resolve this, we have begun transitioning the internal logic to integer-based management using the following units: * Weight: 1mg (0.001g) as the base unit. * Time: 1ms (0.001s) as the base unit. This approach is similar to how Bitcoin uses "1 Satoshi" as its smallest unit to eliminate calculation errors. By establishing these building blocks, we aim to make the app capable of managing precision so strictly that even a 100mg (0.1g) error is accounted for in future updates.
