DD-420
Veteran PTSD Cannabis Tracker
Only for iPhone
Free · In-App Purchases
Track your symptoms. Log your sessions. Understand your patterns. DD-420 gives veterans real insights — private, on-device, and always free.
DD420 is a private wellness companion for veterans managing PTSD who also use cannabis for symptom relief. No judgment. No politics. Just tools.
Your data never leaves your device. No accounts. No ads. No one is watching.
DAILY CHECK-IN
Track your PTSD symptoms using the same four clusters the VA uses — Intrusion, Avoidance, Mood & Thinking, and Alertness — in a guided, one-step-at-a-time flow built to feel less overwhelming. Rate each area honestly, log your mood and sleep, and note what triggered you. Takes less than two minutes, and your progress saves automatically if you get interrupted.
Over time, your check-ins build a picture of how you're actually doing — not how you think you're doing.
CANNABIS SESSION LOG
Log each session with strain, method, THC and CBD content, timing, and — most importantly — why you used it and whether it helped. Select from 12 veteran-specific conditions including PTSD symptoms, chronic pain, sleep and insomnia, nightmares, anxiety, hyperarousal, and more.
Each condition has its own curated list of effects to track. You'll start to see which strains, methods, and dosages actually move the needle for your specific symptoms.
INSIGHTS
Charts built from your own data. See your symptom severity trend over time, which PTSD clusters affect you most, how sleep quality relates to your symptom scores, how cannabis use correlates with next-day symptoms, and which conditions you use most.
The more you log, the clearer the patterns become.
COPING TOOLS
Evidence-based tools organized by what you need right now. Breathing exercises, grounding techniques, progressive muscle relaxation, sleep visualization, and urge surfing — available any time, no subscription required.
TOLERANCE BREAK TRACKER
Set a break goal, track your progress day by day, and get coping prompts for cravings. Includes plain-language education on what tolerance is and what to expect during a break.
100% FREE
Every feature in DD420 is free. Always. No subscriptions, no locked features, no paywalls. If you want to support development, an optional one-time tip ("Buy Me a Bag") is available in Settings — never required.

New: the new icon, the Join the Community link, PCL-5 notes and delete, the fuller VA provider cannabis report, and charts in the caregiver PDF.
Fixes: "Could Not Save" alerts, a complete Delete All My Data, correct widget and PDF scales, no duplicate terpene entries, and the Stack Up and guideline link updates.
Privacy note: Since 2.7, the app's data is excluded from iCloud backups, so a user who restores to a new phone won't get their logs back. The notes tell users to export a PDF before switching phones, since that's the app's only export

• Updated resource links so they go to the right places — including Travis
Manion Foundation (Mission Continues), 22KILL / One Tribe Foundation,
BrainLine, and current VA appointment and enrollment pages.
• Replaced an incorrect Congress bill link with the current Veterans Cannabis
Use for Safe Healing Act (H.R. 966), with accurate wording.
• Fixed two more broken VA links (mental health services and PTSD treatment).
Thank you for your service, and for trusting DD-420 to ride along.
2.7 6 Aug
• Sleep Quality vs. Symptoms is easier to read — the Insights chart now shows
one clear bar for each sleep rating (1–5), with your average symptom score
on top and a simple trend line.
• Tap Details if you still want the full day-by-day bubble view.
• PDF reports use the same cleaner chart.
Thank you for your service, and for trusting DD-420 to ride along.

DD-420 — Version 2.5
What's New (paste into App Store Connect → "What's New in This Version"):
• Crisis Bar now offers Breathe Now and Ground Me Now — fast, one-tap access
to a guided breathing or grounding session, right alongside 988, text, and
chat. Help and calm are both one tap away.
• Emergency Info Card can now include what helps you calm down, your safe
place, and what not to do or say — three optional fields that only show up
in your shared card if you fill them in.
• Cannabis logging adds three more side effects to track: Panic, Anger /
irritability, and Felt unsafe.
• PDF reports can now include your own Provider Notes — what you want your
provider to know, and questions you want to ask — shown only if you write
something.
• First-time setup is shorter — cut from 14 screens down to 4. Same privacy,
safety, and crisis-line information, a lot less clicking to get through it.
• The product scanner's review screen is simpler — fewer fields to
double-check against your package before saving.
• Fixed two scanner bugs: a strain name could get mislabeled with the wrong
text from the package, and a Total Terpenes reading could be missed
depending on how the label printed it.
2.5 10 Jul
• Veterans Crisis Line, always one tap away — a crisis support bar now stays
visible at the bottom of every screen. Tap it anytime to call 988 (press 1),
text, or open a confidential chat. No scrolling, no digging.
• Scrollable Insights charts — the 30-day, 90-day, and All-time views now open
zoomed in on your most recent week and let you swipe back through your
history. Longer trends are easy to read instead of squeezed onto one screen.
The 7-day view works exactly as before.
• General polish and stability improvements.
Thank you for your service, and for trusting DD-420 to ride along.
2.4 2 Jul
• All-new animated, hands-on onboarding tutorial
• Replay the tutorial anytime from Settings
• Full Reduce Motion support
• Reminder time picker polish

NEW FEATURES
------------
- Visual polish: subtle borders added to every card and panel throughout the entire app — Home, Check-In, Cannabis Log, Insights, AI Insights, Strain Library, Terpene Picker, Settings, Paywall, Onboarding, Disclaimer, Caregiver Sharing, Resources, Tools, Trigger List, Guided Audio, Weekly PCL-5, Tapering, and more. Cards now have a clean defined edge against the dark background.
BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS
-------------------------
- Quick Actions "Log Trigger" button renamed to "Trigger" — label no longer overflows its button on smaller devices.
2.2 29 Jun
NEW FEATURES
------------
• New "Sleep Hours Over Time" chart in Insights — bars show how many hours you slept each day, color-coded green/amber/red by range, with 7h and 9h reference lines so you can see your sleep pattern at a glance
• Insights stat cards (Avg Severity, Avg Sleep, Avg Mood) now show a trend arrow — a ↓ or ↑ next to the number tells you whether you're improving or getting worse compared to the earlier part of the selected period
• Running PCL-5 score now visible during assessment — a live point counter in the form header shows your score as you answer, so you're not guessing where you'll land
• PCL-5 severity now uses four distinct color ranges — Minimal (green), Below Threshold (accent), Above Threshold (amber), and Severe Range (red) so high scores are clearly distinguishable from moderate ones
• Insights charts for cannabis and morning/evening now show the correct number of days for the selected range — switching to 90 Days or All Time no longer caps the chart at the last 14 days
BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS
-------------------------
• PDF provider report now includes a PCL-5 trend line — the first and last scores in the period are compared so your provider can see whether symptoms improved, worsened, or held steady
• Cannabis next-day symptom chart now correctly matches next-day check-ins first, falling back to same-day only when no next-day entry exists — prevents same-session data from polluting the correlation
• AI Insights no longer goes stale when you edit an existing log entry — previously only refreshed when the number of records changed, not when content changed
• Positive cannabis correlation now reads as good news instead of a warning — "Lower symptoms after cannabis days" replaces the neutral/cautionary phrasing
• Symptom severity Y-axis now scales to your actual data range instead of pinning at 0–4 — veterans with consistently low scores will see meaningful variation in the chart instead of a flat line
• Avoidance trend analyzer now uses the same 30-day window as all other cluster analyzers — was incorrectly using 14 days, making it less reliable
• PCL-5 history list now shows 8 entries with a "Show all" button — long-term users no longer scroll through every assessment to reach the bottom of the screen
• Notification scheduling errors are now surfaced to the app instead of silently discarded — the PCL-5 reminder screen will indicate if reminders couldn't be scheduled
• App color palette fully centralized — tab bar, navigation bar, and icon tints now all reference the shared AppTheme palette so a future brand change only requires updating one file
• Resolved a potential infinite loop in the widget streak calculator under certain calendar edge cases
• Duplicate code and unused view components removed throughout (internal cleanup, no visible change)
2.1 25 Jun
NEW FEATURES
------------
• Daily check-in redesigned as a guided, step-by-step flow instead of one long scrolling form — answer one thing at a time, less to take in at once
• Check-in now saves your progress automatically if you're interrupted — close the app or get a call mid check-in, and it picks back up right where you left off
• New "Log Trigger" quick action on Home — jumps straight to the SITREP section when you need to log what set you off, without scrolling through the whole check-in
BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS
-------------------------
• Crisis Line numbers in the Full Disclaimer and Weekly PCL-5 results are now tappable — previously just displayed as text, now one tap to call or text
• Weekly PCL-5 results now show a one-tap "Call 988 Now" button when your score meets the clinical threshold
• Added a confirmation step before deleting a custom trigger, so an accidental swipe can't wipe it out
• Improved text contrast and button tap size in several spots (Settings, check-in edit/delete, sleep tracker, guided audio player) for easier reading and tapping
• Simplified the symptom category descriptions in the daily check-in to plainer language
• Onboarding's "Skip setup" button no longer appears before you've seen the crisis-support page
• Removed a few leftover internal-only screens and unused upgrade prompts
2.0 23 Jun
NEW FEATURES
------------
• Weekly PCL-5 trend chart added to Insights — see your full 20-item score over time with the clinical cutoff line for quick pattern-spotting
• Strain Effectiveness chart added to Insights — see which strains correlate with mood improvement, same idea as the terpene chart but grouped by strain/product
• Standalone PDF export for your Weekly PCL-5 history — one tap from the Weekly PCL-5 screen, no need to generate the full VA report just to hand a provider your score trend
BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS
-------------------------
• Fixed AI Insights trend detection to use actual elapsed days instead of check-in count — a missed day or multi-day gap in logging was silently compressing the timeline and could throw off whether a trend showed as rising or falling
• Fixed text getting cut off with "…" across the app — trigger chips, Trigger Context (SITREP) chips, cannabis log reason/effect chips, and chart bar labels in Insights and the VA Provider PDF report now wrap fully instead of truncating
• Home screen now combines multiple same-day check-ins (Morning/Evening) into one card with a switcher, instead of stacking duplicate cards
• Cannabis Use vs. Next-Day Symptoms chart now shows a separate bar for each session more than an hour apart, instead of collapsing every session in a day down to one bar — re-dosing within the same hour still counts as one event
• Tip jar refreshed from "Buy Me a Coffee" to "Buy Me a Bag" with Gram / Eighth / Ounce tiers, plus a clearer notice explaining the lack of a card picker is an Apple StoreKit requirement, not a bug
• Removed a leftover internal developer toggle and corrected stale research links and an outdated strain-count claim

DD-420 — What's New in v1.7
================================
NEW FEATURES
------------
• Trigger Context tracking — log the situational triggers behind hypervigilance episodes for richer pattern insight
BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS
-------------------------
• Refreshed the Resources tab's "Current Research" links — removed two pieces of cannabis legislation that expired with the last Congress, added the VA's own official Cannabis & PTSD research summary and the current Veterans Medical Marijuana Safe Harbor Act (passed House committee 18-14, May 2026)
• Added disclosure of the only completed placebo-controlled cannabis/PTSD veteran trial to the in-app disclaimer, so the ongoing MAPS trial isn't the only evidence mentioned
• Fixed the strain library count shown in-app — now accurately reflects the 80 available strains (was incorrectly listed as 321)
