Eightful
8 points a day. 40 a week.
Free
Eightful is a small, focused Apple Watch complication and iPhone companion
for Vitality Health members chasing the daily 8-point activity target.
Not affiliated with Vitality - an independent tool that works alongside
the official Vitality Member app (https://www.vitality.co.uk).
WHAT IT SHOWS
• A colour-coded step count on your watch face. White below 6,500; red
when you're within 500 steps of 7,000, 10,000 or 12,500 (push now!);
orange, yellow and green as you achieve 3, 5 and 8 points.
• The same number, larger, in the iPhone app - plus the points total,
tier, and a live timestamp.
• A Week tab on iPhone showing last week's points day by day so you can
see at a glance where you earned and where you missed.
• iPhone widget with the same info.
WHAT IT DOES
• Reads your step count from CoreMotion on the watch.
• Scans today's workouts for any that satisfy the 8-point rules (30 min
at >= 70% of your max HR, or 60 min at >= 60%) and turns the display
green early if you've earned the daily maximum via heart rate rather
than steps. Shows the qualifying workout's duration and intensity in
the app.
• Fires a single notification per day at a time you choose (default
20:00). If you're close to a threshold - 6,500-6,999, 9,500-9,999, or
12,000-12,499 - it tells you how many more steps you need to tip over.
If you've already hit the top tier, it stays quiet.
• Adapts its refresh rate: quicker while you're actively walking, idle
when you're sitting still. Built to be gentle on battery.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
• Sign in, sync with an online account, or send data off your device.
• Claim any affiliation with any health insurance company.
• Replace your insurer's official app - it won't log points for you.
PRIVACY
Your Apple Health data never leaves your device. Eightful has no server;
calculations run locally on the watch and iPhone. Settings are stored
on your device only.

thresholds and heart-rate rules implement Vitality's published activity-
points scoring; consult your Vitality terms for the authoritative rules
that apply to you.
REQUIREMENTS
iOS 16 or later, watchOS 9 or later. HealthKit permission required.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
iPhone home-screen widget: small widget showing today's steps, points, and weekly total. Add it from the
home-screen widget gallery.
Settings now lives in its own tab on the iPhone, alongside Today and Week.
Peloton support (experimental): rides recorded on your Apple Watch are now detected and scored per Vitality's
Peloton rules - 20 min minimum, 5 pts / 8 pts with heart rate. Please report any rides that score differently
from your Vitality statement.
Daily report notification redesigned: now reads e.g. "8,500 steps - 3 points - 1,500 more to 5 points." Empty
banner bug fixed (issue #1).
Today tab: points value coloured by tier; no more "Red" / "Orange" / etc. text label.
Watch app: 0-pt days stay white during today (still earnable) and turn red once the day is over.
Thanks to Adrian Lansdown (@yayadrian) for the iOS widget and Settings tab contributions, and to @berters for
the empty-notification report.
