Simple Mode — a new way to use SleepCast SleepCast 3.5 introduces Simple mode, a streamlined experience built around falling asleep to podcasts with a smart sleep timer. Simple vs Expert — Choose your experience in Settings → Experience Mode. New users start in Simple mode; existing users stay on Expert. Podcast grid — Your subscribed shows appear as a clean grid of cover art with tilted artwork, accent shadows, and flippable tiles that reveal episode info and controls. Grid or list layout — Switch between grid and list views, with sorting by title, latest episode, rating, subscription date, and more. Mini player — Playback controls and progress stay at the bottom of the screen while you browse. Fullscreen player — A dedicated player with a collapsible sleep timer panel; full timer options remain in Settings. - AI Summaries Let the app automatically create summaries of podcast episodes. The app first transcribes the audio using WhisperKit and then creates a summary. You can choose from different models (tiny, base, small, medium) depending on the desired speed and quality. The language is automatically detected based on the podcast metadata, but you can also set it manually. Swipe right on an episode in the playlist to open the options. Summaries can be processed in the background while your phone is charging. You can copy and search through transcriptions. Failed summaries can be retried while keeping the transcription. In the summaries overview you can select multiple summaries and delete them all at once. - Podcast Rating Give your favorite podcasts a rating from 1 to 10. Open a podcast you are subscribed to and tap the stars to give a rating. In the playlist you can then sort by rating. Episodes from podcasts with the highest rating will be shown at the top. If multiple podcasts have the same rating, the episodes are sorted by date with the newest first. Manual Feed Subscriptions Add podcasts by directly entering an RSS or Atom feed URL. This is useful for podcasts that are not in the Apple Podcasts directory, such as private feeds or independent podcasts. - Auto-Remove Old Episodes Set episodes to be automatically removed from your playlist if they are older than a certain number of days. This keeps your playlist tidy without having to manually delete.
