Tailscode is a native Mac app for the coding agents already running on your own machines. Point it at a machine on your Tailscale network, open the project, and drive Claude Code, opencode or Oh My Pi from a real window — while the repository stays exactly where it belongs.
It connects point to point over your own tailnet. No relay servers, no account, no analytics, no middleman reading your code.
WORKS WITH YOUR AGENTS
• opencode — connect straight to opencode serve and drive any provider you have configured.
• Claude Code — via claude-bridge, the open-source companion server that turns Claude Code into structured streaming sessions backed by your subscription.
• Oh My Pi — via omp-bridge, the open-source companion server that gives Oh My Pi the same structured streaming sessions.
A LIVE, NATIVE TRANSCRIPT
• Answers are written out at a readable pace rather than pasted in lumps, with collapsible thinking and tool-activity groups.
• Syntax-highlighted code blocks, byte-exact copy, and a diff for every edit the agent makes.
• Inline permission approvals — Allow once, Always, or Deny without leaving the chat.
• Agent questions become answerable cards; subagents render in the same conversation instead of hiding in another window.
• Images the agent hands you open in a zoomable gallery you can save, copy or share from.
• Steer mid-turn: queue a follow-up while the agent works, edit it before it lands, or stop the turn server-side.
• Slash-command palette and full catalog, per-message model and reasoning-effort overrides, conversation forking.
A WINDOW BUILT FOR WORK
• Split the window into panes and put a different machine, project or conversation in each. Tabs inside a pane, drag a chat into one, zoom one to fill the window.
• Keyboard-first: one shortcut registry, a vim-mode composer, a searchable cheat sheet, and ⌘ menus for everything else.
• Claude Code sessions also read the repository they are working in: branch, upstream drift, staged and changed files, and the diff behind each one. Read-only, on purpose.
ASK FROM ANYWHERE
• One global hotkey opens the ask box from any app on your Mac and sends the question to the machine you choose.
• Notifications when a turn needs you or finishes, and a list of what happened while you were away.
WHERE THE MONEY WENT
• Session spend opens up turn by turn: what each turn cost, which model spent it, and where the tokens went.
• Account-wide analytics across every connected machine — days, models, projects, tools, and what caching saved you.
• Live quota gauges: Claude plan limits, Grok quotas, opencode cost estimates. Always marked an estimate, never a bill.
NATIVE TO THE CORE
• Programmatic AppKit and Swift 6. Liquid Glass, one window, real menus, full keyboard control and VoiceOver labels.
• Seven color themes plus the system's own, and a type scale that follows them.
• Open source under GPL-3.0 — the app, the engine, and the bridge.
FREE, AND CLEAR ABOUT THE ONE THING THAT ISN'T
Every screen is in the free app and your first machine is free forever. Connecting a second — one session list across your whole tailnet — is the one-time Tailscode Pro unlock, and it covers iPhone and Mac on the same Apple Account. No subscription, no account, no ads, no tracking. A built-in demo walks you through everything with sample conversations, no server needed.
TRY IT BEFORE YOU WIRE ANYTHING
A built-in demo lets you explore every screen with sample conversations — no server needed.
REQUIREMENTS

This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
New:
• Quick Ask leads with what you just copied. Copy some text, a picture or files and Quick Ask shows a card with errands for it: explain, summarise, translate, improve or reply for words; describe, read the text or explain for a picture; summarise, explain or review for files. An errand writes its instruction and pastes what you copied, and never sends on its own.
• Delegate holds a passing patch for you to read before anything touches your repository. Open the run to see each changed file with its line counts and its diff, then Apply to the tree (unstaged) or Discard. If a chat is working in the same repository, Tailscode names it before you apply. Needs delegate 0.4 on the machine.
• Type /delegate in any chat, or choose "Delegate a task…" from the chat's ⋯ menu, to start a packet on that chat's machine with the task and the repository already filled in.
Changes:
• Quick Ask's starters are a grid of tiles, and recent questions fit on one line with their age.
• Delegate's window leads with New packet, shows the ladder as one row of tiers with each tier's pass rate, and groups runs into Needs you, Running and Earlier, each with its repository and age.
• A run leads with what matters: why it stopped in the verifier's own words, the tier waiting for your approval, or the patch ready for review, followed by one main action.
• The new-packet sheet asks for the goal, the repository (picked from where your chats and runs work) and the paths first; class, verifier and tiers fold into one “How it runs” line you open only to change them. ⌘↩ sends it.
Fixes:
• Messages you queue during a turn now go out one turn each when it ends, instead of all at once with only the last one answered.
• A queued message is no longer sent the moment you reopen a chat whose turn is still running.
