Weld Guide
Gauge Quiz
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Read welds, remember the terminology, and build a steady exam-day rhythm.
GaugePass is an independent study aid for people preparing for the AWS Certified Welding Inspector exam. It combines focused welding practice with an interactive gauge trainer, a structured question bank, spaced-repetition flashcards, and a practical reference library.
PRACTISE READING WELDS
Train the visual skills that are difficult to learn from notes alone. Work through five generated gauge modes:
• Fillet leg size
• Convexity and concavity
• Groove reinforcement
• Undercut depth
• Discontinuity identification
Each round gives you a new weld to read and immediate feedback.
STUDY 420 QUESTIONS ACROSS 9 DOMAINS
Build confidence in welding processes, heat control, metallurgy, NDT, weld examination, welding maths, safety, terminology, and inspector duties. Review worked explanations and focus your practice on the domains that need more attention.
PRACTISE AGAINST THE CLOCK
Use the 46-question, 60-minute simulation to develop your pacing and see your results by domain. GaugePass is a study tool, not a reproduction of the official exam.
REMEMBER 200 KEY TERMS
Use the built-in flashcard deck with Leitner spaced repetition. Cards you know return less often; missed cards come back sooner.
CARRY A PRACTICAL REFERENCE
Browse more than 140 focused pages covering weld symbols, filler metals, discontinuities, welding maths, processes, and non-destructive testing.
GaugePass does not provide certification, replace the applicable code books, or guarantee an exam result. Always verify technical decisions against the standards and documents that apply to your work.
