Level Devil doesn’t play fair – and that’s what makes this mischievous platformer so much fun! Surprise traps stand between you and each exit door: the ground opens up beneath you, circular saws suddenly shift direction and teleporters warp you to fatal locations. Can you outwit these deadly dungeons?
What we love: Being trolled in clever ways. Whether it’s flipping the controls or reversing gravity, Level Devil keeps expanding its lethal bag of tricks across dozens of themed rooms. In one level, coins can be picked up; in the next, you walk on top of them to cross a chasm. Expect the unexpected!
Quick tip: Moving slowly and steadily – so you have time to dodge hazards as they appear – is the best way to traverse most levels. But not all of them! Watch for the occasional room where sprinting for the exit is the only way to avoid pursuing spikes or reach vanishing platforms.
Meet the creator: “I strive for humour with all my games,” says solo developer Adam Corey (aka Unept), whose whimsical projects include the balancing games Unicycle Hero and Level With Me. While designing a goal for Unicycle Legend that slowly inches offscreen, Corey envisioned a platformer that would troll players – an idea that eventually became Level Devil.
