Ever hit a baseball so hard that it landed on the other side of the city? That’s business as usual for the ragtag rebels who step up to the plate to save Neo Tokyo, Tribe Nine’s sci-fi metropolis. Slide into a wild mix of RPG storytelling, real-time combat and XB – that’s “Extreme Baseball,” where the bases are miles apart.
What we love: The eclectic vibe. One minute you’re searching a 16-bit cyberpunk city for citizens to help and secret stashes to plunder; the next, you’re shredding giant robots in over-the-top 3D brawls packed with jaw-dropping special effects. What a ride!
Quick tip: Sneak attack an unsuspecting enemy in the overworld and you’ll begin the battle with two bars of your Tension meter already filled – letting you unleash ultimate attacks sooner. Get ambushed, though, and that advantage flips to your foes.
Meet the creator: Tribe Nine began as a 2022 anime series, before developer Too Kyo Games expanded the franchise into an action RPG featuring an original story and new characters. Too Kyo also co-developed World’s End Club and the movie/game hybrid Death Come True.
