Grommash Hellscream is on the move – but stopping the famous Warsong chieftain and his army should be a snap. Just whip up some Murloc Tidehunters, Gnoll Brutes and a Molten Giant!

These are just a few of the epic forces at your fingertips in Warcraft Rumble.

The latest from legendary Warcraft developer Blizzard returns the beloved franchise to its tactical roots. Command dozens of units from across Warcraft history as you topple enemy towers and battle ferocious foes in white-knuckle, strategic skirmishes. Here’s what Azeroth has in store...

Brilliant bite-size battles

Set inside a mysterious, pinball-like machine, Warcraft Rumble lets you build an army of collectible Minis, which you’ll set loose on multi-laned arenas to take out your opponent. It introduces clever features that will make any Warcraft fan feel right at home, such as deployable miners who dig up extra gold and the ability to alter a unit’s path.

Spy some incoming Harpies surging down one lane? Shift your fireball-flinging Ogre Mage their way and watch ’em fall. Flying troops, siege vehicles, sturdy tanks, glass cannons – with dozens of units to unlock and equip, the strategies are limitless.

Loads of lore

A gaming mainstay for decades, Warcraft has a rich lore filled with iconic characters and locations, all presented in a brand-new way in Warcraft Rumble.

“Take the bits of boss information right before you start a mission – there’s a little nugget of lore in there,” says game director Tom Chilton. “It was lovingly written to help capture some of what that character was in World of Warcraft or in the Warcraft RTS (real-time strategy) series.”

Unleash the mighty death knight Baron Rivendare and summon endless zombies for your Undead army. Lead the Alliance (and cast creature-slowing ice spells) as Jaina Proudmoore. You’ll even battle deep-cut characters, such as the stoic gargoyle Gish the Unmoving and the ginormous gorilla King Mukla. Looming over it all is Onyxia, the legendary Black Dragon. Can you reach her lair?

So many ways to play

Warcraft Rumble’s single-player mode includes campaign stops all across Azeroth – from Westfall to Ashenvale – filled with increasingly difficult missions. It’s a callback to the original Warcraft games, which were primarily about beating defined levels.

But there’s more than one way to conquer a kingdom. Take on Quests to upgrade specific units, or head into Dungeon gauntlets to boost your leader’s army. And when you’re ready, slip into multiplayer by joining guilds, running Raids or taking on the world in PvP slugfests. For the Horde!

Know before you go

Looking to get a leg up? Chilton suggests getting familiar with unbound units (minis you can drop anywhere on the map) such as the S.A.F.E. Pilot.

“There are a lot of different ways to play her,” he says. “You could take out a ranged mini walking down a lane with a tank in front of it, or you could crash it behind your own bigger push, so she can use her blaster for area damage. You could even place an unbound unit behind a boss – which will then face a different direction as your whole army shows up to fight it.”

He also recommends rounding out your army.

“Build a complementary army that covers its bases,” he says. “You’re going to want something that does area damage; otherwise you’re going to get overwhelmed by squads or large groups of enemies. And then you need something to handle air units. If everything is focused on the ground, you’re going to get into trouble!”
