BeannThere 1.11 – Cleaner Login, Smarter Details & Smoother Reviews This update focuses on improving clarity, removing outdated login options, and polishing the review and shop detail experience. Login Cleanup We’ve removed the anonymous login option from onboarding and disabled it server-side. This ensures every user has a proper account, which improves stability, syncing, and the overall experience. Smarter Featured Cards Featured café cards now show what type of coffee shop it is (e.g., bakery café, specialty coffee bar, roastery). A small detail that helps you spot your perfect match even faster. Cleaner Shop Details If a café hasn’t been reviewed yet, we now hide the MKCategory section. This keeps the page tidy and avoids showing empty or irrelevant info. Review Section Improvements Under “What type of place?”, we’ve added a new option: • Coffee roasters Perfect for users who want to highlight specialty roaster cafés more accurately. Quick Review Fixes We fixed several issues with the Quick Review feature to make sure reviews submit smoothly and consistently. A small update, but one that makes BeannThere feel more polished and reliable all around.

BeannThere 1.9 — The Big UI Update Version 1.9 is a major update for BeannThere, bringing a completely refreshed design and smoother experience throughout the app. What’s new: - Account Settings: The profile’s Account Settings sheet has been redesigned it’s now scrollable and much cleaner. - Community Page: The entire tab layout has been rebuilt with a fresh look. Top Cities, Most Ordered Drinks, and Trending now have a sleek, modern design. - Improved Search: Previously, searching for a city like “Tokyo” would translate it into your device language (for example “Tokio” in Dutch). Now, the search uses exactly what you type. - New Search Button: A new “>” button next to the clear (X) button allows you to search without needing to press enter on your keyboard. - Journey View Fixes: Fixed issues where reviews wouldn’t load properly or favorites didn’t display correctly — everything should now work smoothly. Shop Detail Page Complete Redesign: This is the biggest change in this update. - The entire header has been redesigned with different layouts for iPhone and iPad. - Buttons are larger and the overall styling better integrates the shop information with its name. - Reviews and Stats are now combined into one tab Insights with a beautiful new layout. - Venue Type now matches exactly what users enter in their review, and Features & Amenities and Styling are also displayed in a more elegant way. - The tab bar between Insights, Drinks, Beans, and Photos has been visually improved. Drinks Tab: - Completely redesigned with card-style layouts that look more premium than the previous list view. - Added a button to view common drink customizations like milk types or syrups. Beans Tab: - New tab showing the grinder’s roast, bean origins, and whether customers could choose between different options. Photos Tab: - Images are now presented in a cleaner, more visually balanced layout.

Version 1.8 – The Matcha Update This update is all about Matcha! More and more cafés are serving Matcha alongside coffee and now the app does too. New & Improved : • The Near Me page now shows not only Coffee Facts but also Matcha Facts, with a fresh green design. • Added Matcha text to the Home View. In the Review Flow: - The intro text now includes Matcha. - Step 1 adjusts when you’re reviewing Matcha. - The Matcha section has been updated with new, Matcha-specific flavor profiles. - The Beans & Roast section has been completely reworked for Matcha now asking about grade and origin. - The overall drink rating now adapts based on the new Matcha questions. Fixes & Small Updates : Fixed several missing icon errors on the Near Me page. Added a new comfort option: Not much seating inside. Added a new service option: Takeaway only.

This update focuses on a few backend upgrades and small interface improvements that make managing your account easier. New Added your User ID in the Profile View header, along with a convenient copy button so you can easily share or reference it when needed. Improved Added new logic that allows me to enable Ad-Free Mode for specific users directly from the server. When someone purchases the Ad-Free version, the switch now automatically updates both in the app and on the server for better synchronization.

Version 1.7 – Smarter, Clearer, and More Helpful This update brings several improvements and a few nice additions to make Beannthere even smoother to use. New : Added a new button in the detail view toolbar that lets you report if a coffee spot is permanently closed. When reported, I’ll receive a notification so it can be reviewed and updated. Improved : The header in the detail view has been redesigned and now scrolls smoothly with the page. The Community section now only shows the top 5 results for both Top Cities and Trending, instead of showing everything at once. In Explore, I fixed an issue where some featured spots appeared incorrectly when the city name was part of a street name (for example, “Rede” showing up for Ede). This now works as intended. Added an in-app tutorial after the first login for new users, explaining how the app works and what you can do with it. In the Profile view, under Help & Support, you’ll now find links to the Roadmap and Changelog that go directly to my website.

Instead of guessing the address from coordinates, the app now uses accurate Apple Maps data for location matching. Improved Firebase Logging (New York) Firebase event logging for New York users has been optimized for more consistent and complete data tracking. Server-Synced Reviews & Favorites Reviews in Coffee Journey and Favorites are now fetched directly from the server instead of local storage. Adding or removing a favorite coffee shop now updates instantly on the server, ensuring accurate sync across devices. New Review Flow Enhancements In the “Let’s Talk About Food” step, users must now select one of the three options before continuing. During the photo upload step, users can only proceed once a photo is successfully uploaded. If an upload fails, a clear error message appears suggesting a new URL. - UI & Design Updates Search Results Redesign (iPhone) The entire search result layout has been refreshed with clearer labels instead of icons, a cleaner design, and now displays the number of coffee shops found.
