Overcast really loves podcasts. You can tell. Everything here has clearly been the result of a lot of podcast listening, and the result is an app that does everything you want to do without unnecessary features or unnecessary fuss.
I like the re-design
Was listening to ATP about the power of one-star reviews and noticed that I had never given a review myself.
I have been using this app for years now an keep recommending it to everyone. Just the other day my wife was listening to a podcast that had really bad editing. Switching this over to OverCast solves both the voices and the long pauses. Such great features!

This app went downhill
First, thanks for all the hard and great work put into previous versions!
But over the years the apps design went from good to mediocre and now to worst. Why break what works well and replace it with something that doesn’t work?
Horizontal scrolling for playlists, seriously? It takes ages to scroll from the first to the last playlist. Only 3 playlists visible on pro max screen.
But the main problem of the new rewrite is the missing streaming feature. Okay, I understand that streaming is hard, but not having it is a total dealbreaker. Why does it download 100MB file every time I want to listen 5 minutes of 1 hour show? Why should I wait for 30 seconds or more for each episode after pressing play? If some users don’t understand all the problems of dynamic ad insertion and blame the app for skips, just don’t make it default, why remove it?
I’m not giving one star because the app is not unusable. It still has some great features. Smart speed is a work of art. Please do not improve it!
