PolyMic: Multi-Phone Recorder
Record band practice together
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Rehearsal recordings that don't sound like a phone in the corner. Everyone's iPhone becomes a mic, synced into one mix.
PolyMic turns your iPhones into a synchronized multi-track studio. Place a phone by each instrument, hit record, and every player gets their own clean, separated track - drums, guitar, bass, keys, etc. No audio interface. No expensive studio microphones. No laptop. No cables running across the rehearsal room.
MULTI-TRACK CHANGES EVERYTHING
A single phone in the corner gives you one muddy room recording. PolyMic captures each source separately, so you can mix the band's rehearsal, live set or demo recording afterwards and actually hear what your band sounds like.
THREE EASY STEPS. ZERO GEAR.
1. Place your phones - one near each instrument or amp
2. Hit record - one tap starts every device at once
3. Mix and share - adjust levels and export straight from your phone
PERFECTLY IN SYNC, AUTOMATICALLY
PolyMic aligns every track to the millisecond on its own. No clapping to find a sync point, no dragging waveforms around in an editor, no drift halfway through the take. Press record and it just works.
BUILT OFFLINE-FIRST
Works anywhere. Phones connect directly to each other - no network required, so PolyMic will work even in a basement studio with no reception and no Wi-Fi.
BUILT FOR
- Band rehearsals and practice sessions
- Jam sessions and demo recordings
- Live gigs
- Podcasts and interviews with multiple speakers
- Music teachers and students reviewing takes
MIX ON THE RIDE HOME
Balance levels, pan instruments, and export a finished mix from your phone. That usual throwaway rehearsal recording turns into a demo.
BUILT BY MUSICIANS
PolyMic started with a familiar frustration: the best take of the night happened, and nobody caught it properly. We built the tool we always wanted - no gear budget and easy to use.
