The Web eID solution enables the use of Estonian digital documents (ID-card, digital ID, e-Resident’s digital ID, residence permit card, etc.) for secure authentication and signing on the web.
In addition to this extension, the ID-Software must also be installed on the computer. Download the ID-Software from here https://www.id.ee/en/article/install-id-software/.

It does not work at all

Downloaded and installed this "Safary extension". It does not add anything to Safary. It does not show up in the extension list. Even the button to open Safari preferences does nothing. Absolutely useless on macOS Monterey with M1 mac.

I was worried it may have some issues because I have a mac with M1 processor, and that it might have problems communicating with the old card reader - but was positively surprised that installing extension was super simple, and it recognised the card instantly. Also the UX is very neat - it shows the certificates it found, and I can enter my PIN to sign documents. Thank you RIA for supporting Apple Safari users ;)
