The JOHN Editor is the best way to author JOHN Plugins on the Mac. The JOHN Editor is a document-based application that provides a graphical user interface to the JOHN Runtime for Swift. It is designed to be familiar to anyone that has used the AppleScript Editor before, a tool that ships with the operating system for writing scripts to automate the usage of the Mac. Plugin authors can build plugin sources to verify the correctness of their syntax, and then debug them via the various data points contained in the plugin inspector. The JOHN Editor also takes advantage of the advanced functionality of the macOS to provide automatic versioning of the plugins edited in the application, as well as surfacing the entire JOHN Language Specification via the Help Viewer in the Help menu.
