What's new in nib 1.10.08? NEW • Think someone else has your sync code? Change it in Settings → Sync. • Tap anything that needs Nib Plus to see what Plus includes, and start it right there. MORE PRIVATE • Sync codes, share passwords and text from locked notes clear from your clipboard after 10 minutes. • While your vault is open, your notes are hidden when you switch apps. • A locked note's folder and categories stay hidden until you open the vault. • Vault passcodes can't be only numbers, and new ones are much harder to crack. • If you start syncing now, your writing is stored in the EU. • Our server keeps only the last 90 days of past versions. Your devices still keep all of them. • Our server can no longer tell exactly how long each of your notes is. • While you type, Nib syncs about once a minute instead of every few seconds. • New in Settings → Sync: Require signed sync, an extra lock on your synced writing. Turn it on once Nib is updated on all your devices. FASTER AND FIXED • Much quicker with thousands of notes: opening Nib, searching and saving. • Times stay on one line, long links wrap, and long titles no longer hide under the pin. • Very large files from other apps import without slowing Nib down. What's new in Nib 1.10.07? • A new library. Every note and page is a card on a screen of its own, so you see everything at a glance. Open one and your writing has the whole screen; ‹ Notes takes you back. • Folders and categories. Make a folder from the row above your notes, then press and hold a note or page and drag it onto a folder to file it. One folder holds both notes and pages, and categories add a colour. Three of each are free, and Nib Plus has as many as you like. • Settings → Customize. Set the text size, width, line spacing and how much things move, and choose what shows beside your writing. With Nib Plus: fonts, accents, highlight colours, spaced or indented paragraphs, justified pages, typewriter scrolling, focus dimming, your own toolbar, saved looks, a theme of your own and alternate app icons. • Nib moves. Tap New and your note opens out of the button. Tap + New folder and it springs open for a name, with an empty folder dropping in. A trashed note crumples into a ball and flies into Trash; restored, it lifts back out; deleted for good, it's shredded. New folders arrive with a burst, and cards glide when they change places. Turn it down in Customize → Motion. • Opening Nib, the nib draws a line of ink while your library loads, and Lock Nib's screen takes your theme's colours. • On a new iPhone or iPad, a welcome: start writing, sync from another device, or import your notes. • Changing theme now cross-fades the whole screen.

Whats New in Nib 1.10.06? • Nib keeps your writing in more rare cases: a backup restored while syncing, a note locked or unlocked as another device's edit arrives, a vault passcode changed on another device, and a backup in the app's own files that couldn't be read. • An edit that a lock from another device beat is kept as a locked note, never stored in the clear, even before you open the vault. • If your vault's passcode is shorter than eight characters, Nib asks you to choose a longer one. • With Lock Nib on, Control Center no longer takes away the keyboard. On iPad, time in another app beside Nib counts as time away. • Locking a note, or turning on Lock Nib, takes its reminders already shown out of Notification Center, so its title doesn't stay there. • A long word in a table wraps instead of squeezing the other columns, in shared drafts too. • Very large or unusual Markdown and Evernote files import at once. • A title starting with a dot exports as a PDF. • Every theme's name shows in full in Settings, and a note's pin and trash buttons are easier to see. • A note saved under a minute ago says "now", not "0m ago". • One damaged note no longer leaves Nib blank.

What's new in Nib 1.10.05? • Ten new themes in Settings → Appearance, from Midnight Blue to Gruvbox Light. Seven are free, and Purple Green, Alien Pink and drcl come with Nib Plus. • In pages, Return starts the next line, with no blank line between paragraphs. • The keyboard slides over your text, and the formatting bar rides up and down with it. • Tapping a checkbox just ticks it, without bringing up the keyboard or moving your place. • The formatting bar for selected text now scrolls with the text. • Deleting lines at the end of a note no longer makes the text jump. • The sidebar slides away, and notes fade in as they open. • Lock Nib is stronger. While it’s on, reminders say only “A reminder”, and the keyboard stays hidden behind the lock. • New vault passcodes need at least 8 characters. Links to a locked note no longer show its title. • When a note is edited on two devices at once, History keeps both versions. A locked note stays locked, and the other edit is kept as a separate locked note. • Exported files no longer stay behind on your device. • After reinstalling Nib, enter your sync code to sync again. • Many smaller fixes from a full review of Nib’s safety and reliability.

Whats new in Nib 1.10.02? • Share a draft without Nib Plus: one read-only link at a time, for 7 days. • A daily word goal and its streak are now free, in Settings → Goals. • The style check is now free: it counts what might read better. Nib Plus underlines each one. • Version history shows the last 30 days without Nib Plus. Older versions are kept from now on, and Nib Plus shows them all. • On a new iPhone or iPad, Nib asks whether you use it on another device, and leads you to sync. • In a long checklist, the line you’re typing stays in view, and the formatting bar stays on the keyboard. • Checkboxes line up with their text. • With your iPhone on its side, the sidebar closes the way it does upright. • Settings scrolls when Advanced is open, and text no longer slides behind the buttons at the top.

Whats new in Nib 1.1? • Lock Nib with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, in Settings. • Format like Notes: checklists, bulleted and numbered lists, underline and highlight, from the bar above the keyboard. • Link notes: type [[ and pick one. Each note lists what links to it. • Tables in pages. • Reminders on any note, set and rung on your device. • Import from Simplenote, Bear, Evernote and Notesnook. • Catch a thought from anywhere: Nib is in the share sheet, in Shortcuts as "Add to Nib", and on your Home Screen as a widget. • Version history now keeps 100 versions of every note and page, free. • With Nib Plus, share a draft by link, encrypted end to end, with a password if you like, and read the notes your readers leave. • Also with Nib Plus: a vault for chosen notes, a goal and deadline for any document, timed sprints, a calendar of the words you write each day, and a style check that runs on your device.

Nib Plus can now be bought in the app. In version 1.0 the plans didn't load, and the Nib Plus screen said it wasn't available yet. The monthly and yearly plans now appear in Settings → Nib Plus, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
