Senyalització Històrica — a nearly forgotten project of the Olimpíada Cultural of the 1992 Barcelona Games, which yet left the most visible trace on the city’s streets: a series of bronze plaques on buildings of special artistic or historical interest. Extensive research has enabled the determination of the number of unique plaques and their precise locations. Today, it is clear that the initiative of Barcelona’s renowned chronicler Lluís Permanyer, the distinctive design of the celebrated André Ricard, and the list of remarkable buildings selected by respected expert Josep Maria Carandell have themselves become part of the legacy of Barcelona ’92 — and an invitation to explore the city through this unique Olimpíada Cultural project. With the app, you can: — locate the buildings included in the Senyalització Històrica project on the map of Barcelona; — check whether the bronze plaque is still present at each site; — read concise descriptions of the buildings and their significance; — mark the places you have visited and track your progress; — receive a reward after completing the whole route!
