Rollick App is the player app for Rollick Pervasive Gaming Platform (http://rollick.tuc.gr).
With Rollick app you can find and play pervasive games available in your area and experience adventures, interact with virtual characters and objects, you can win real world offers from local businesses and organizations, and in general enjoy your city in a way you couldn’t imagine.
With Rollick Pervasive Gaming Platform you can be a game designer and publisher by your selft without any coding knowledge!
Visit https://rollick.tuc.gr sign up, and start creating your own games using the Rollick Game Designer Application. Test them with Rollick Up, and when ready, publish them to the platform.
Some of the features that the Rollick Game Platform offers to the game designers are:
- Various ways to communicate with your player (Information Messages, Questions, Quizes, Conversations, Notifications, etc.),
- Spatial fragmentation of the game world into various game scenes with their own script
- Various ways to observe the player and game state, and evolve the game plot
- Various ways to sense or control the player’s environment (GPS, camera, map, …)
- Support for non playing characters, skills, items, objects, offers, etc. with customized behavior
- Many other exciting features...
Rollick Gaming Platform and Rollick App are outcomes of the G4M (Games for Marketing) pilot project funded trough the Smart Specialization Strategy programme by the Region of Crete (RIS3Crete), Greece. A project aiming to explore how pervasive games and gamification techniques can be employed by companies and other organizations (especially the small ones) for marketing reasons.
There are various primitives that can be employed by Rollick games to this direction from just directing players to specific areas, to letting them win real world offers as gaming rewards. Rollick games can even establish their own virtual market allowing players to trade or redeem their assets (collected objects, skills, etc.) getting paid in the game’s virtual in-game currency.
Although Rollick was built with marketing in mind, it is up to you what feature you will employ to build your games. Thus, you can use Rollick to create games for educational, recreational, cultural or other purposes!
