Hello, lonfallout! Thank you for your feedback. ‘The Calculator’ app is a third party app, which is not available automatically on Apple devices, but rather is downloaded from the App store. In return for using the app for free, you will always see ads. Optionally, you can purchase a subscription to remove advertisements. We included the premium subscription so we could offer some additional functionality that we believe falls outside the regular calculator, as well. When using the app for free you have access to all the basic & scientific functions. The premium subscription unlocks the currency convertor & fractions tab, which are useful extras that don't fall within the domain of a regular calculator. You also receive premium customer support! We believe this to be a good deal, but always do our best to listen to you. We'll definitely take your feedback into account to try and improve our system. If you have any further feedback on the app please contact us through the Frequently Asked Questions section, or directly at support@impalastudios.com.
