New flight navigation features are available.
This application is based on the NetBriefing system, which can communicate with the ground infrastructure and run on portable devices. It provides information that can reduce ground-to-air radio traffic and airspace infringements.
This application also includes functions to increase flight operational effectiveness and enhance pilot situation awareness.
This would include, for example, the transmission of static and dynamic airspace data, but it may also include the display of information on surrounding cooperative air traffic.
This application will also collect and distribute information related to the operation of unmanned aircraft systems, and a data communication platform with portable devices could be built into this infrastructure.
Given that the onboard portable device and the information provided will only provide background information, this application shall not be treated as a safety-critical development.
Only registered users are entitled to use the VFR mobile application, not exclusively, but with other registered users, without passing on the right of use.
The VFR mobile application can only be used for private purposes, as per the terms of use. Use for business purposes is excluded.
Please note: Location enables a moving map, shares position information within the system, and records track logs.
MAP
Basic day and night maps of Hungary for offline navigation.
Topography Hungary DDM-50 digital terrain model (50 x 50 meters grid) for offline availability. The terrain data calculates the minimum altitude of the corresponding GNSS positions during the flight.
AIRSPACE
Hungarian Airspace contains static offline,
dynamic online (FUA) airspace and
online data of active drone zones.
DIGITAL AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION
EAD (European AIS Database) AIRAC update and download for offline access.
CHARTS
Access to AIP documents, charts.
WEATHER
HungaroMet Meteorological data, such as radar precipitation, visible satellite images, and weather warning forecasts, is regularly retrieved from the server by the application based on its validity and the time stamp of the last data update.
LOGS
You can view and use your flight logs saved in the NetBriefing system for navigation.
FLIGHT PLAN
A database containing a list of active and archived flight plans with their current status. The flight plan can be viewed on a map, and the flight can be started from the flight plan list and the route preview on the map. You can send DEP, ARR, CNL, CHG, and DLA messages to your flight plan as a user.
TRACKS
The system creates and stores the tracks of active flights.
CONSPICUITY
The mobile application sends the GNSS position data (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, vario, timestamp, accuracy) to the servers over the mobile network to share, broadcast, and display it with other users within the mobile application.
Sharing live position and tracking data in the mobile application is part of the terms of use.

New Flight Instruments and Features
- Vario Meter (VSI – Vertical Speed Indicator): Real-time vertical speed (rate of climb or descent) for better situational awareness.
- Vertical Planning / Quick Routes: Plan vertical profiles (climb/descent segments) and simplify flight path management with just a few taps.
Emergency and Navigation Enhancements
- Instant Nearest Airport (NRST): Instantly displays and prioritizes the three closest airports on the navigation display.
Weather Enhancements
- METAR and TAF Messages (Airport and Terminal Forecasts): Detailed, standardized weather reports (METAR – current weather; TAF – terminal forecast) are displayed directly in the app.
- Extended Weather Information: Integration of additional, supplementary meteorological data (e.g. radar, satellite images, ice hazard maps, warnings) in addition to the existing basic information.
Map Updates and Customization
- Map Manager for European Maps (Geographic Database Management): Allows flexible downloading, updating and management of European navigation databases (map packages) by country.
- Metric and Imperial Units Conversion (Unit Conversion): Simple and instant switching between metric (meters) and imperial/international (feet, nautical miles) map and navigation units.
- Light and Dark Map Themes (Display Modes): The light theme is optimal for daytime flights, while the dark theme (Night Mode/Dark Mode) adapts to the low-light conditions of the cockpit at night, minimizing eye strain and preserving the pilot's night vision.
