Description

I created this app to help get my baby daughter to sleep. I was looking for an iPad app that would serve as a simple night light that would dim over a period of time. I couldn't find one, so I wrote Fade Out Night Light.

Fade Out Night Light is a simple app with a single purpose - to gradually dim to black, then allow the iOS device to lock.

The app consists of:
- A single button to choose a background: plain screen, water effect, or expanding circles

- 3 sliders: Red Amount, Fade Time, and Time Remaining

- A Start/Stop button

The first slider allows you to add a red tint to the white screen. This cuts the blue light and makes it easier to sleep.

The second slider is where you set the fade out time, from 1-60 mins.

The third slider shows how much time is remaining and will gradually move to zero after you hit start.

When you hit start, the controls will dim and only the Time Remaining slider will be visible. This allows you to quickly turn up the brightness if you need to see, or if you want to give more time until it's dark.

While the timer is running, the device will be prevented from sleeping.
Once the timer is finished and the screen is dark, the device will be allowed to auto-lock to save battery.
